If we play playoff caliber ball then it won't matter a lot but they should be prepared for BS plays. That may be the only way the Skins can win the game.

This isn't dirty pool at all. If there's a possibility of bringing on a former Cowboy player who could provide info re our defense or offense, then other teams would do it the same way we would do it. S. telling us about this play was perfectly acceptable and routinely done in the NFL. You don't think Canty told the Giants every thing he could about the Cowboys--both offense and defense. Of course he did. Maybe that's how the Giants managed to beat us twice this year--unlike the previous years.

Kickers don't have a playbook and they don't attend any offensive meetings. This is garbage.

Why is it bad form to help your new team? It's not like he's giving away social security numbers. Not to mention the play itself is pathetic.

You must be new to the Cowboys, or real young, so I welcome you to the Cowboy's fanbase.
:welcome:

It has always been determined by who wants it more rather than record with these two ball clubs. Do not underestimate them when it comes to them playing the Cowboys because hatred can sometimes be your best friend.

I heard Wade say that, but he didn't sound very comfortable talking about it. He probably wishes he had kept it to himself.

They only ran one version of it. From the looks of it, they ran the fake screen (or lateral) to the kicker / go route. There's probably a run version (like an option toss to the K left with the line blocking in), screen to the wall of blockers side, kicker pass throwback, etc all off of the same look that they didn't run.

That's what he's likely to be sharing, not just the one version that they ran.

What a load of garbage in this article.

1. Just how much playbook does anyone think a kicker even has or knows...he knew a fake FG...big freakin' deal...we ran the same play in high school and called it the muddle huddle...what good is it if the guy taking the snap can't count high enough to realize the ball had to go to the back on the other side behind the line?

2. Every player who has ever been cut by any team and resigned by a another team has shared what he knows when the two teams meet...duh..."bad form"...idiot.

you're not supposed to run your OL quite that far off to the left...just around the numbers. The center should have a receiver number...there's one wideout to his right and one blocking back to the right of the center...the QB needs to be slightly mobile. The heavy guys are on the other side with a rb behind them. If only 3-4 guys stay with the center/wr...the snap goes to the QB who rolls right with his blocking back...the center runs a short out pattern to the right and the wideout on the right runs a curl, while the blocking back rubs anyone on the right and slips out as well.

If they have too many guys on the center/wr side, enough to cover two receivers and rush the QB, then the center, instead of snapping the ball between his legs to the QB, snaps it sideways to the running back who plows ahead behind a line with more guys than guys to block.

That's how we ran it and how it was run in Michigan for a short while back in the 70's. It's used to be a great 2-point conversion play because you only needed 3 yards and you usually got your receivers in man-coverage, not to mention how often the QB just ran it in to the flag. The Skins version was ridiculous because the play had no chance at all by snapping it to the QB over there by himself...pathetic. I guarantee you when the Giants called timeout, their coaches had seen versions of that before and just wanted to force the snap or qb pass to the RB behind the line because it wasn't a 4th and short play.

That play alone summarized the Skins pathetic braintrust.

I can't believe they lined up to do it again after the gmen called timeout. the play was actually supposed to have the punter throw to the center:laugh2: ol Zorny has been watching too many movies.

I didn't know the punter was throwing it. Looked like ole Garo trying to pass it. There was a man behind everyone ,it just didn't get there.

^^^^This

and Bartel doesn't know a thing about our current offense so any info he could give doesn't matter one little bit. If he'd gone straight from Dallas to Wash two years ago yeah it might be a problem.

Now wait a minute here. Since when do kickers even GET a playbook? I mean, when they cut Suisham, I heard the call from Zorn was to report to his office with his jock strap. :lmao:

I predict Suisham will drill a 50+ yard kick. It will be a meaningless kick, as the game will be well in hand, but he'll drill it and then look to Dan Snyder's box menacingly.

As far as I know, there is no rule in the NFL that prohibits players from telling their new teams any info they may know about their old teams.

Dont you think Brett Favre probably told the Vikes something about the Packer's offense that he ran for a million years??? Reaity is that this is common practice in the NFL.

Oddly enough, the Commanders got heat at the start of the year when they signed Andre Woodson to their practice squad after he was released from the Giants. And who did the Commanders play Week 1...the Giants.

Didnt seem to help too much as Giants won 23-17

According to a tweet from a Washington Commanders beat writer, new Dallas Cowboys kicker Shaun Suisham told coach Wade Phillips about the Commanders’ swinging gate fake field goal play Monday night against the New York Giants.

Rich_Campbell

Dallas HC Wade Phillips: K Shaun Suisham alerted him to the Commanders’ swinging gate fake FG before they ran it vs NYG on Monday night.

If this is true, this is big news.
LMAO at this being "big news".

I'm sure Wade met with him, asked with a smile if they had any trick plays he should know about, and Suisham said "Oh yeah, they love this swinging gate play..."

And then they ran it Monday night.

What a bunch of nothing. This whole "issue" is as lame as lime-colored text.

I agree, simply because the fact that the Commanders already have given up on the season. They have no idea what is going to happen to their positions with the new GM in town and they all know Zorn is essentially gone. The idea that it is a division game is not really valid IMO, simply because the Giants are in the same division and nobody on that team came out and did anything.

The Cowboys need to make a serious statement going into the play-offs.
