Sunday games thread

I remember when Jerry Jones was shaking his hand at the Senior Bowl.

It reminded me a little of Tom Landry greeting Troy Aikman before the Cotton Bowl.

Thing is, we simply did not have enough conviction to pull that trade off.

We were still in "Romo has five more years" mode.
And that was a stupid mode to be in considering Romo's recent injuries. Should have learned from what happened to Aikman.

I have to think it was "awkward" for Romo as well. And he likely felt more than a little betrayed.

Hell yea I’d feel the same if I was Romo. He saved JG *** for years and covered for him. That’s how he gets repaid? That was just JG making sure he didn’t get any backlash from those who talk about the “hot hand” garbage.

In not even one year, he has already established himself as someone to be reckoned with.

Garrett after seven plus? Not so much.
I never understood why Garrett, at one time was considered an offensive minded genius or why he would excel offensively. He's essentially worthless. He copied an old system and went with it unsuccessfully. Who couldn't do that?

He deserves our respect though. He has been able to fake it for a very very long time.

That takes some skill.

Yup, without an elite offensive scheme (top-5), he's worthless. No defense-savvy whatsoever.

Anyone watch any of these games where teams have lost multiple players and say to yourself wow they are steal very competitive ?
Actually, they amaze me.

I don't quite understand why they don't unravel like a cheap suit.

I mean this is a great team, with a great staff. If it can happen to us, it can happen to anybody.

I was never more prouder for Tony. He put the welfare of the team over himself. Garrett would never do that.
Romo was the brains behind the machine while he was here. Not the publicity and the marketing and the brand (and who gives a **** how valuable our team is!?), but the on-field product we saw. He ran the show.

With that said, due to having to carry the team on his shoulders (you folks wanna talk about a QB who can carry a team), and nary having, even, a year of a complete team (like Brees 2009, ARod 2010, Brady always), his body finally gave out. We couldn't get him the D to compliment his amazing talent.

He'll never come back. I can't stand the posts advocating his return. It's a pipe dream in an alternate universe. His body is done. His mind isn't, but this is the NFL. He'd get killed his first game back with this decrepit coach(ing staff) and the way we're performing, and no Zeke.
