FEATURED Sunday Games Thread

I thought they were guaranteed a possession when the OT rules changed. I might be wrong though
"There shall be a maximum of one 10-minute period, even if the second team has not had an opportunity to possess the ball or if its initial possession has not ended. If the score is tied at the end of the period, the game shall result in a tie."

It's odd because the ref at the coin toss says both will have the opportunity to possess the ball and the other rule says "Both teams must have the opportunity to possess the ball once during the extra period, unless the team kicking off to start the overtime period scores a safety on the receiving team’s initial possession, in which case the team that kicked off is the winner."

no extra time can be added. Only in playoff games does it go on until its over

Both teams will have a chance to possess the ball in overtime. The lone exception comes when the kicking team scores a safety during the receiving team's first possession.

A coin toss determines which team chooses to get the ball first.

After each team possesses the ball, the team with the most points wins. If it is still tied after one possession each, the next team to score wins.
