I just talked with Directv and they said the best price they can give me with an early bird special for the Sunday ticket is $279.95.

For those with Directv, is that the going rate now?

I had it the year before (i moved last year and couldn't install the dish at the apartment i was staying in) and if i remember correctly it was a bit lower than that.

Go ahead rub it in Yeag:mad::)

I'm in WV and last year i was so pissed that i couldn't get Sunday ticket because of my landlord but it turned out i got to watch all but 2 games on the local tv.

I asked BP if that was common and he said no. So i have to fork over some money if i want to watch my Boys play at home:mad:.

I used to eat, sleep, and breath Sunday Ticket.

Anymore its a huge *** money pit.

Basic service, sunday ticket, hd box, hd fee, super fan.

Just a ton of money to spend when you can head to the sports bar.

How much do you usually spend at a sports bar per week?

Well I don't have to go every week. Even If I did, I would probably spend about 20 bucks for a burger and a couple of beers.

So, $320 for a whole season.

Really, I only go probably 4-6 times. Maybe $100 per season for a lunch and a couple of drinks.

I'm not sure how many times i would have to go to a sports bar to watch games if i don't get Sunday Ticket but if i assume 10 times, that's about 200 bucks for the year, $80 less than the Sunday Ticket. Also, we're expecting our first baby in early September so i would want to be around my baby boy over the weekend as much as possible. For that particular reason especially it is well worth it to me. I still would like a better price if there is a way though.

That's $200 just for you for the year.

Usually, one goes with at least 2-3 freinds and/or family. So the total $800.

The $280 is well worth it if you ask me.

I just got billed for it on my directtv bill, so I called them telling them to cancel it. They asked me why, and I said it was too expensive.

The guy asked me if he could reduce the price, would I keep it. I said, "depends on the price". Basically I got the sunday ticket and the superfan, and hd games for $209.

I wouldn't doubt that the price they give you is dependant on how what monthly service package you currently have. I am a gold member, so maybe they give me a little better deal.

I do this every year though. Its a simple phone call to complain, and they always reduce the price by 100 bucks or so. If you don't like the 279 price, I'd tell him no thank you, an call back adn get another operator. Maybe they will give you a better deal.

Thanks fellas, i'm pretty psyched about it. I can't wait for that little guy to come out and play.

Some one else for Bob to pick on.

My nieces are getting a cloth designer friend of theirs to make a onezee with a star and number 24 on it, to match my barber jersey. :)

I will be calling Directv this evening. They're billing me six payments of $61.49 ($44.99 for Sunday Ticket & $16.50 for SuperFan) or $368.94 for the whole thing. I'm also a gold (Premium HD package) member, so I'm hoping that they offer me the same type of deal. If not, I'm still paying it and probably continue doing so until it tops $500 a season. Half a thousand's my personal limit.

That's true as well. My wife used to go with me to the bar when i had to go watch it outside the home.

If you have Superfan w/ your NFL Ticket then you will be able to watch games streamed to your iphone or other supported device.

I can't wait. Sometimes I can't be home to watch the game. Now I won't miss any.

Thanks for the advise Cowboy. I did that when i had Directv for two or three years in a row and got a better deal. Right now i'm just a returning customer after a year. I talked to a couple of reps on the phone and they just won't budge.
