I do not believe you are correct. If the game is blacked out locally, you should get it on the ticket. It's not a local feed. I've had the ticket nearly 15 years and there has never been a game I couldn't watch.

Local blackout rules do apply to Sunday Ticket, it's in the fine print

I talked with a regular Customer Service Agent first and then she transferred me to someone to help cancel my account. I must say, he was very willing to be helpful to cancel, not so helpful in giving anything away. I kept saying, I just want the red zone channel but You guys only offer it with ST, and I don't want to pay 300 for that.. and he was like, ok, what date do you want me to cut this off.. we do not have any promotions for ST right now, so take it or leave it was his basic stance.

It's called CSR roulette. You might have to call multiple times to get the right one.

I am almost done with DirecTV. Suspended it through the summer this year and enjoyed what I could get streaming for a much, much lower cost. Only reason I keep it around is ST.

Why not get NFL rewind? I did the same thing 2 years ago. The wife enjoyed it for a while, then complained about not having Food Network or HGTV. Guess what she watches now that we are locked into a 2 year contract? Netflix.

Please move if not the right place. But I haven't bought the package in years now but I am considering this year. I noticed that the Texans play 5 games at the same time the Boys do this year and in Houston, that means those 5 games will not be shown locally. So my question is, are those games still blacked out on Sunday Ticket in the Houston Market or will they be aired on the package regardless of the Texans game on or not?

I only got $50.00 off just like in past years. I said "cancel" and threatened to cancel with the CSR, but all that got me was $50 off and a free genie offer. IMO, ST should be free for long time customers like me.

If I weren't a sports fanatic I'd cut out cable all together and just go with Netflix.

XBMC would allow you to watch any tv show or movie you'd want, in case either of you ever decide to cut the cord. There's always ways, for the most part, to watch sports online. I'll be watching NFL games this year on my computer (with the online ST that'll be included in the Madden Anniversary Edition this year from Amazon), which I'll be streaming to my tv.
