Sunday's game will define the season

Talk about a huge game for the coaching staff. They’re all on the hot seat and the reasons are obvious. They’ve brought in a proven defensive coordinator to help out CP. The players have been accused of lack of effort. A players only meeting was held to address the issues. Jerry’s pissed. The players are pissed and the fans are pissed.

If the team comes out flat and loses then the season is going to be hard to salvage.

If the team comes out swinging in all 3 phases, shows some life, shows some physicality and establishes an identity, then maybe they have a chance to salvage the season.

A season defining game.
According to our fans, every game is a season-defining game. Even if we lose this one, we're in a division that is struggling overall and there are a lot of games left. Five losses aren't likely to eliminate us. Will it make it harder? Of course, but only if one of the teams in our division was undefeated and playing like it would this be season defining.

I think there is the habit here to put more weight on each game than is necessary, which is part of the reason fans fall apart when we lose. It's always better than to win than lose, but we're not even at the halfway point of the season.

JJ operates on the' infinite monkey theory' If monkey is taught to type eventually they'll type a novel.
So if you can be content with with theory everything will be ok
The infinite monkey theory, good Post. Monkey Jones sucks at at running an NFL football team, but we all know this and it ain't getting better it may be even worse.

I realize that it wouldn’t be the end of the season if they lose. I have no clue how the locker room is so it’s just a hunch that if they play poorly, they may lose the players. But who knows.

We are due for a good game. But I understand you're view.

Pettine might be that turning piece. Like he mentioned, it's the little things he sees wrong.
So I'm riding with that.

They just need to show some improvement, some physicality and some grit.

Alot of us rag on the Giants but its undeniable that Harbaugh had those bums clearly out-physical the Cowboys.

If the HC or DC dont instill and demand this it must come from a leader or two on the roster......

We now have legit players on both sides of the ball but who are the TRUE leaders?

And if they come out lethargic, give up 50 pts, and raise the white flag by the 2nd quarter, you'll say NEXT week will be "the defining game of the season "

Both teams have regressed since then, Dallas more so.

You may be right . Jacobs having legal issues will not be playing that’s nice for Dallas. And I suggest Joey Porter Jr follow Christian Watson all over the field let Bland take on Golden .

Yes, it will define the fact that I knew that Harbaugh would do what no one else could do with the giants and continue to lead the division because our clown owner likes puppets for coaches..

I’ll predict now that there will be a ‘this weeks game decides the season’ thread going into Monday against Philly.

Honestly the division is so bad this year 9 wins may take it. Unless NY goes on a significant win streak, which they do have 4 upcoming winnable games, this division should be competitive until the end.

The only thing that defines this team over the past 30 years is inconsistency and mediocrity. Will that change after this game? I highly doubt it!

The most Dallas thing to happen would be for this team to go out and play a great game and beat the Packers convincingly. 95% of fans would jump back on the Dallas bandwagon and proclaim we are back! Then we finish the season at 8-9 and miss the playoffs by 1 loss. Giants win the division at 9-8.

I don’t want it to happen, but something like this is the most likely outcome with this mediocre inconsistent franchise.

Dallas should have did whatever it took to hire Brian Flores. Made him the assistant HC and DC. Made him the highest paid assistant HC in the league.
To many fans and owners, including Jerry, fail to realize great-defense really does give you the best chance to win a Super Bowl by far.
All our Super Bowl winning teams had dominant defenses!.
I agree. This team needs to go all-out to get Brian Flores here. I don't care if it's the 5th different DC in as many years. They have to get this right.
