Sunday's loss could be good for Cowboys

I know it seems like the sky is falling now, and honestly with how bad we looked Sunday I don't blame anyone who says so, but maybe that loss was what the Cowboys needed. We overlooked the Seahawks and didn't come to play. They came out, hit us in the mouth and we tucked our tail between our legs. Maybe now all the talk will stop and we'll finally put in the effort every week to come out and be the best that we can be.

Or, we could go the way of the 2010 team and roll over and give up. At the very least we'll know what this team is made of next week when we have a pretty tough game against a Bucs team that did to Carolina what the Seahawks did to us week 1 and almost beat the Giants last week. Hopefully our team is focused and we show up next week.... if not I don't Garret is back next year. Not that next week necessarily is a must win, but we have to at least play our ***** off if we lose.

We said that after Minnesota and Philly too when they embarrassed us. I agree that in reality, this should motivate them but as we have seen in the past, prove it to me before I buy into that.

you are like this friend of mine who flunked an exam
so i went to commisserate with him but strangely he seemed quite happy

i asked him why that was and he said "this way, i will have studied the same thing twice whereas all of you (who passed) will only have studied it once"

of course ignoring the obvious that people who passed the first time had taken care to prepare properly and that he had been poorly prepared

there is clearly no arguing with that kind of logic and it is out in full force on this board today

so yeah, this is a "good loss"

wonder how many more "good losses" are in store for us?

Oh, I'm not buying in. We've all been burned by the 'boys. I guess I just hope that this team is different. I thought we pretty much got rid of all the entitled guys on this team. I could be dead wrong, none of us are in that locker room. I think my preseason prediction was 9-7 or 8-8, heck we're right on track for mediocrity. I'm just hoping for some miracle.

They beat us. It happens. People seem allergic to giving the other team credit without completely trashing their team.

i don't think it's as simple as them hitting us in the mouth and we quit. No. The fact of the matter is if we come away with at least 2 FGs when we were within Seattle's 40 yd line on 2 possessions in the first half, the game unfolds totally different. Romo threw a pick on one, and right before the half we just stalled at the 38 yd line after easing down the field to that point. Could've easily been tied 13-13 at the half.

We failed to capitalize and allowed Seattle to play with the lead the entire game and they were able to comfortably play to their strengths especially after the half. Frankly, they're going to beat most teams in their house if they're up in the 2nd half. With their defense, the crowd noise and their strong running game, it's an uphill battle for the opposing team in that stadium. Time to move on...

I'm not making too much out of this loss, but there is no way a whoopin like that is good for this team. These are not a bunch of cocky young pups that needed perspective, it is a team with veteran leadership that simply got spanked by a team that felt they could bully them.

Nothing good at all about the way this team lost.

It's like losing a battle in a war and calling it a "good loss".
