Super Bowl odds 2026 After Draft

This is what infuriates me about the Cowboys. In 2023 we were just as good or better than the Eagles. The Eagles make moves to get over the top, the Cowboys do what they normally do after every season, their trash offseason process. Which never changes regardless of what happened during the season. They did this after the 2016 season. I had a rant on how insipid their off season was. The Eagles end up winning the 2024 SB, and the Cowboys don't make the playoffs. This isn't just bad luck, the Cowboys front office earned the results.

The Eagles build off their last season. The Cowboys have a complete disconnect between the season and the off season. What happened during the season does not change their off season process. The only thing that changes their off season process is who they need to replace. They make no attempt to get better. They run the same tired process of drafting and filling holes with dollar store players. It doesn't matter if we went 3-13 or 13-3.
Very much with you.

Tell me how you get blown out at home in a playoff game in which you were a heavy favorite, then issue a public written statement that says “we are close,” which FULLY implies you’re not quite good enough….then proceed to do nothing to improve the team except sign a 30-something LB because he knew the defense.

The philosophy is all about saving pennies to sign the jersey sellers years down the road.

I mean it was literally years ago when the kid would say things like…”well we’ve got Parsons to think about….”

Come on. They should have been scrambling to win before Lamb and Parsons rookies deals expired but they don’t see things that way. Just be a contender then they can sell it. It’ll never get you a championship. It’s completely about making the playoffs and hoping to get lucky. Not gonna work.

Yes I did, and most of those teams are just not that great.
They are all beatable.
Phil is the best and even they are beatable.

Right now I think dallas will wind up 10-7 or possibly 11-6
The only significant improvement in the division compared to last season is the Giants at quarterback. They might win one or two more games. Dallas and Washington won’t win more games this season. Philly will lose two or three more than last season.

I understand all NFL fanbases are fantasizing this time of year. But the Cowboys aren’t winning 10 games.

Nothing I disagree with. You see what they do here, right? After the 2023 season, their process was not altered based on the results. We sometimes have good off seasons, bad off seasons, but not due to any changes, the process is always the same. It only looks good or bad based on who we lose, and who we have to replace. The draft targets change, but not the process. They won't trade for Pickens and Breece Hall to try to make us contenders, that's something the Eagles would do. It would probably cost us a 2nd and 3rd, but they're better than what we'll probably get from a 2nd and 3rd. They don't want to spend the money. Like you said, just hope we get lucky.

The 49ers were 6-10 in 1980. They were slowly building their team, and it paid off just one year later. Mostly through the draft. But they did trade for DL Fred Dean, who was a beast!! What teams are winning SBs today solely building through the draft? I don't understand why more prominent people aren't calling out the Cowboys on their process. I'm insignificant. Is no one else paying attention?

They're going to probably have one of the best defensive lines in the league. It's not just Carter, the other DL they drafted looks pretty good too. Then add who they already have........
Exactly, and they have at least a QB or two that can win a game for them

Yes. Russel Wilson 2.0 is going to be better than Daniel Jones. Most likely. If they don't have their OL shored up, he'll be worse.

I hope we’re building for the next QB not currently on the roster. I’d love to be a QB away when he gets here. A QB that would at least give us a shot.
You know that's also a bit of wishful thinking. For every (very rare) rookie or brand-new QB that hits it out of the park (i.e. Jayden Daniels), you can also get a Bryce Young. Dak is limited, for sure, and will probably be more limited status-post his most recent injury, but you can't know what's on the horizon. After the Eagles ran Donovan McNabb out of town (and Dak and McNabb are not that dissimilar, with missed throws and deer in the headlights at some points), they trotted out a variety of QBs including Mike Vick (not bad), Kevin Kolb (bad), Nick Foles 1.0 (not great), Sam Bradford (terrible), Mark Sanchez (!!!), Carson Wentz (pretty good for one season, but faded), Foles 2.0 (amazing for a few games), and then finally were able to settle on Hurts.Clearly, it can take a while after you jettison a decent but not elite QB to find a franchise QB.

30 years is long enough of putting no stock in the QB position. You’ve got to at least try. What’s the difference at this point? None of the 3 QBs on this roster will ever take a team to the dance no matter how much talent you put around them.
