Looking for people who have previous experience with going to the Super Bowl. Getting tickets (best places to buy from, safest to avoid scams), flights, hotels, car rentals. Biggest challenges, etc.

this is not a thread about Dak, Zeke contract, McCarthy, the run defense, Jerry , Stephen, etc.

This is about people’s advice and experience on going to the Super Bowl. What they learned. Best practices, etc.

My 39 year old son and I were laughing the other day when he reminded me he was 12 the last time the Cowboys were in the SB. And just for the record…Dak was 2 the last time Dallas was in the big one. Wow.

All I can say is we’re past due. Doesn’t mean it’s going to happen. But this team…maybe. Sure hope so.

Why was this thread moved to the NFL zone? It is about the cowboys and the Super Bowl experience.I would appreciate it being moved back to the fan zone.

Not sure, really wasn't a concern since the 90's

One, everything is extremely expensive. Motels... not "hotels" are close to a grand a night. Airlines will bump up the flight prices that weekend to Phoenix as will rental car agencies. Upper level "get in" tickets will be about $4000 a ticket. Easy $10,000+ weekend.

I had a buddy up North go to one a couple years ago. I think your number is very conservative from what he told me it ended up costing him (honestly thought he was nuts). I enjoy watching a game, but way to rich for my blood (to boot I'm not "large crowd" type of person LMAO).

Out of curiosity, looked. Upper level for this years game starts out at around 5k a ticket. Mid levels are 17k a ticket and the others you need to call on.

And your spot on about the "event pricing". Every business probably has pricing set in for that date, and it's not going to be cheaper...

Attending Super Bowls are for millionaires with disposable income that they don't know what to do with IMO. I've got money in the bank where I could afford it, but how do you think I got money in the bank to begin with?:D

this was helpful. Wow.

I went to the SB in 1976 Dallas Vs Pitt good seat and the cost of the ticket? 35 dollars. My how times have changed

To be fair, due to the cost of inflation, that would equal to about $190 in 2022, so not as cheap as you'd think it be LMAO Keep in mind, the average salary of a NFL player was about 58K back in 1976 which would equal 304K in 2022. The last average salary I found was in 2017 and then it was 2.7 million a year per player.

Biggest change (for the better IMO) was back in the 80's, the players actually started to getting a piece of the pie from the NFL owners.

Think about this... I remember when gas was .56 a gallon. That would be about $2.90 today, but everyone thinks gas pricing is a rip off.

Where did you look for prices? Also, what ticket service (does the nfl sell tickets on their site)
would you get tickets from?

I just googled it to be honest with you because I was curious myself due to this thread. I'd guess ticketmaster would be as safe as a bet as any.

Thing is, after you get the tickets, as SuperBowlz stated, you will need to get airfare (unless you're local to the area, which could help immensely in reducing overall costs), figure out transportation, then figure out where you're staying for the night, added you'll be vying for the same needs as (wild butt guess) 80,000 other people who want to go. That's not mentioning meals, drinks and trinkets. To myself, it's just a overpriced potential logistical nightmare.

I guess you could look for all inclusive trips (if they exist) but God only knows what that could run you (20k per person would be a easy guess and that could be a conservative price).

If you were my son, I'd tell you that if you actually had the disposable money to try and make an event like this happen, to save the money and watch it on TV. Best Super Bowl in my life I ever watched was with my dad on TV together after he moved in with me due to his age and health, and it helped it was a team he got me into when I was growing up. My wife heard a lot of screaming in the basement from the both of us LOL.

Yeah still cheap tickets even based on that, the avg fan could attend the game. Now days you are talking 4000 for cheap seats avg family can't go that easy to a game.

For a family of 4, even in the nosebleed sections, you're looking at a minimum of $16,000 to attend one game.

This is why even though I consider myself a NFL fan, end of the day it's a HUGE business, and in my entire life, I've never gotten anything in the NFL and why I try to put professional sports in perspective in my life as an adult. God forbid you don't have to be a jerk to be a fan LOL

I agree for the most part the SB is now a social event for the well off and many really do not care about the game. The people who go to the games throughout the season, who are glued to the TV set every game day are left out, the true fans.

That's because the NFL doesn't care about it's true fans, it only cares about making money. Thing is, why does the NFL charge what they do for Super Bowl seats? Because they can. What would happen if they had a Super Bowl and no one went because they wouldn't pay the price? LOL Don't even get me going on the college football racket.

I'm just glad I have been to a SB and I have attended a National Championship (Alabama vs Miami) George Teague made the play of the game and coach Gene Stalling got his National Championship. Chances are I will never be able to go neither again

Not too long ago they had a lottery where you sent a 3x5 card with your name and you got the right to buy a pair at face value but they did away with that. I won it once and flipped the pair for like $4500 on eBay. Can't remember who it was...
