Will the Cowboys ever win a Superbowl, our last Superbowl win was 1996. We've have great teams, players, and we've made strides over the years. This team is lacking in having a manager that is willing to get this team to the next level to hold that Lombardi trophy in his hand! Getting old seeing all these other teams make it to the Superbowl and we're coming nowhere near it.
I predict before the SuperBowl you will make 4,876 posts asking dumb questions and asking for thoughts and wishing you were a mod. Anyway, what will be your next dumb question in about 20 minutes from now?

Someday should have been an option because eventually even if it takes several more decades they’ll get back to a SB. Those who voted “never” are extremely down on the organization.

Is Jerry still the GM? Do the Jones's still own the team?

Unfortunately we would have to catch lightning in a bottle
Jerry's negative miracle failure rate is beyond luck and lightning in a bottle. When you fail so hard that there was only a 1.8% chance of you failing that hard for 30 years, you have moved beyond luck being able to cancel that out.

Why do you engage with him if this is the way you feel about him? Why not just scroll past his topics?

Jerry goes to the SB every year….but never gets to bring his team with him.

He was ridiculed by a stand up comedian to his face last year over the playoff futility, which resulted in what? Signing a 30 something year old linebacker as the big move.

You all know Jerry and how badly he wants to be the center of media attention for two full weeks at the SB, but has NO idea how to make it happen….yet also thinks no one could do better.

There’s really no reason to have any hope of winning anytime soon. They either aren’t trying or have no clue. At least one is true.

I think the 2014 team was a good/great team. Probably Romo's best year of his career, with a great offense. It's too bad our defense was middle of the road that season. To me, that has been the best season with the most potential to get to the promised land.
My opinion is simply performance-based according to how far a team makes its run:
  • Bad - cellar dweller/finishes with 0 to 3 wins
  • Poor - clearly sub-500/wins 4 to 6 games
  • Fair - just above, at or just below 500 (7 to 9 wins)
  • Good - finishes the regular season with +10 games or reaches the wild card and/or divisional round
  • Very Good - plays in the conference championship and/or Super Bowl
  • Great - wins the Super Bowl
  • Excellent - wins Super Bowl and follows up with either a Very Good or Great performance the next season.
For example, some fans and media might judge Dallas' 1980 through 1982 run as great. Instead, I thought those NFC Championship runner ups to Philadelphia, San Francisco and Samuel L. Jackson bad word as very good.

I usually wait until a season ends before judging. I say usually because sometimes I jump the gun based on how I 'feel' a team is doing as the season goes along. Needless to say, Dallas' 2024 season gave me a Han 'I've Got a Bad Feeling' Solo for the entire month of September. :(

EDIT: better clarified Good team

drafting well
Thanks. I assume that is the answer to my second question.

Well, it can be equally said Dallas is in good company as far as making Super Bowl caliber strides. In fact, a number of them have taken caliber out of the description of what they actually accomplished--whether playing in one or winning the whole darn thing. :)

They will never win until Jerry and son can put their EGO aside ....... and that is not happening as long as Dallas fans keep making them richer and richer.
