Supplemental Draft Time

I'd be fine with a 4th round pick...but we can't afford much more, especially since he isn't an RKG.

If I understand correctly, the supplemental draft proceeds by each team turning in their highest draft round card for a selected player, then the league basically just tallies the cards and awards said player to the team with the highest selection, right? If true, this draft shouldn't take more than a few minutes.

Just over an hour to this finally being over. Meaning the Supp Draft not the Mayan end of the world.

Actually he was griping about the pick of Walsh. You made a snide post directed at him and then he complained about you and your role. Just keeping it real.

As far as the supplemental draft, didn't Dallas bid on a player last year and got beat out by the Raiders? I could see them posting a low pick for one of two players mentioned (specifically the wr). I don't think it will be a high pick. Jerry is a gambler.

Cool, thanks!

I'm still kinda torn on this guy. I mean he has potential, and he has the "mystery box" appeal, meaning there is a lot of intrigue that he could be a really phenomenal player for whoever ends up with him. He possesses a rare height/speed ratio that sparks the imagination of GM's, coaches, and fans alike.

But how many of these players actually live up to the hype? I believe Hostile said that Chris Carter was the only Supplemental draftee that went on to have a great career. From the very limited that I have seen of Gordon, I can't tell if he has that kind of potential. It's not like he was leading national statistical categories before being removed from Baylor, and he isn't seen now in the same light that Dez Bryant was after he missed a year of eligibility.

The chances are heavily that this guy is nothing more than the average Joe. But that intrigue is still there. With that said, what is the price of the gamble? For me, I just can't see going higher than a 5th rounder.

How long does it last normally? I have never paid attention to it? I bet the Raiders go after Gordon/

It's submitted by e-mails, like a bid.
Highest draft pick wins....or in some cases, lose....

Say a team says it will give up a 4th round pick, another a fifth, another a 2nd.

Well the team giving up the 2nd, gets the player.

They used to have an actual draft I beleive, with each team selecting, or passing, until they go through all the alotted rounds / players.

Given that history, I think it is very unlikely that anyone goes higher than a 3rd on Gordon. Also, I will go out on a limb and predict that no one will use an 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, or 12th round pick today.

My theory on that....the calender maker died, and did not train an apprentice. As the young folks thought it was a waste of time, and wanted to pursue other ventures....
