Hatcher probably cannot be considered a suprise since we did take him in the third. Ware would have to double his numbers to be considered a breakout after his great rookie year. Johnson - maybe- if he really is stronger and does not get rocked back this year. Kosier maybe.

If Al Johnson breaks out it will be a surprise to most here.

If Marcus Spears breaks out it will just be a breakout since he is a 1st round pick last year.

Two good choices though.

A lot of people I've read think Spears will be a solid starter, but I think he hits into "stud material." I don't think he'll have more than 5 sacks given the position he plays, so that's not really a "breakout year."

I thought as the season came along, Al Johnson's blocking got better and better. He still gets pushed back too often for my tastes (which makes having Julius a good thing since he's pretty adept at cutting out of Al's way), but if he's really put on 15 pounds of muscle I can see Al having a great year.

Surprise: Julius Jones will not get hurt and will run behind an improved offensive line. He will both surprise and breakout.

Breakout: Terrence Newman. Granted he was great last year, but this year the entire NFL will know that Newman is the best corner going.
