Of course Maycock and the rest are absolutely slobbering over the Giants', Eagles', and Commanders' draft. What does Maycock have to say about our 10 picks so far...that we got a couple of "undersized linebackers". I guarantee you, with all the press and buzz Jason Williams was getting, if New England drafted him we would still be hearing about it. Also, no mention of all the other value picks we got... and all the Stephen McGee love... well, no more now that he's a Cowboy.

Why do you assume its about "hate".

Was the media hating on us back in the late 90's, early 00's when our drafts stunk? Or could it be that maybe, just maybe, our drafts did indeed stink?

Looking at last year's draft, everyone wondered why we drafted Choice after Felix Jones and already having Barber.

Remember the moaning about M Bennett?

No one knew anything about Scandrick. More moans and groans.

Heck, a lot of people didn't like the F Jones pick at the time.

Just goes to show you, until they get on the field, you don't know what you do or don't have.

Other teams in the East had a good draft and some very notable players. Our draft is very "un-sexy" so it makes sense that we're not being talked about.

I love the irony in a poster calling the media jerks and then using a slang word for the male anatomy to refer to a person.

Everyone is entitled to his opinion. Just because you don't like that opinion doesn't mean the person is a jerk.

And so what if members of the media like one team's draft over another? Most media focus goes to big named players and players picked in the upper rounds. The Cowboys didn't pick until the third, so naturally, they're not going to get as much coverage.

They sure did... and Maycock had equal time to talk about each of them. The only thing he could come up with was "undersized linebackers". Funny, but I bet he wasn't toting Williams as just an "undersized linebacker" back when half the NFL was inviting him over for personal workouts.

It's going to take 3-5 years to judge this draft, so people, please, please do not discuss this draft before then.

It's way too early to say how much it sucks. We will cut probably half the guys taken today, and some will go on to have good careers with other teams.

What gets me is they will count Jason Peters in grading the Eagles draft but will leave out Roy Williams when looking at the Cowboys.

If you're going to evaluate our draft, you have to consider WR Roy Williams as part of it, because he essentially is.

I don't recall a lot of groaning about the Scandrick pick. Everyone from Kiper to Gosselin praised the pick and he was rated as a top 100 or 3rd rounder all over the place.

As far as I remember, that pick was about as universally praised as any in recent memory.
