Dallas Cowboys (6-2) at Green Bay Packers (4-4)

If I were the FOX director doing this game, I'd have a WadeCam (because Wade Phillips is always good for about eight agonized expressions during a game), and I'd dedicate one to Jerry Jones, seething, in the final two minutes. I don't love Green Bay, but I like them here because they've got to look at this game as a last-gasp playoff hope.
Prediction: Green Bay Packers 30, Dallas Cowboys 27

:laugh2: @ Green Bay putting up 30 points on our defense right now. This guy is a joke.

I think Dallas will win, but I don't think it's way off-base for some pundits to pick Green Bay in this game. This is Green Bay's season. Their backs are to the wall. We'll find out exactly what kind of team they are on Sunday. Do they fold with their season on the line or do they save themselves?

I think Dallas is the better team. It's just tough to gauge a team that's on the brink of losing their season. They certainly have more on the line than Dallas does. The Packers aren't devoid of talent, either. Driver, Jennings, Rodgers, Kampman (if he plays), Grant, Woodson, Harris, etc. all have skill sets that are among some of the league's best.

This will be no walk in the park for the Cowboys. I think we win, but it's going to be a hell of a fight IMHO.

I don't know, I wouldn't be totally surprised to see the Packers offense put up some points. Despite the fact that their OL is a turnstile, they are still putting up a hefty amount of points a game. This game is going to be tougher than the records would indicate.

Our pass rush against GB's O-line = Rodgers on his butt all night including a pick or two.

Exactly. I hate sports writers that know nothing about football, make predictions based on things like "oh this is their Super Bowl." Are you kidding me? This is the NFL. Like Dallas is just going to lay an egg on a 4 game winning streak against a team that has already given up 37 sacks through 8 games. Child please!

I bet a nice big tub of extra-butter popcorn would get Peter to change his mind.

Packers got a little bulletin board material from Crayton. Not that it matters to anyone but the fans but I found this interesting.

Edit, I have not seen where MM is throwing any of his players under the bus. Yet!

Crayton: Packers cracking up
By Greg A. Bedard of the Journal Sentinel

Green Bay - Apparently the Dallas Cowboys think they'll be facing a Packers team on Sunday that is coming apart at the seams.

Receiver Patrick Crayton was asked by reporters in Dallas on Thursday if the Packers are a desperate team.

"I think so," he said. "The president is putting pressure on the head coach. The coach is throwing his players under the bus. It happens. Pressure busts pipes. People tend to crack up."

Crayton was referring to the remarks by Packers team president Mark Murphy earlier this week that the Packers have been "disappointing" and that he expects "that we'll make the changes that we need to end up having a successful season."

Of course, Crayton has never been seen a microphone he didn't like. And he's made provocative statements before facing the Packers each of the previous two years

I hadn't seen that before.

Shut up, Crayton!

Carolina was 0-2 and "desperate" for a win but it didn't help them. Unless weather is a factor, always go with the better team.

So he couldn't think of anything football related to say....so he takes pot-shots at the coach and owner?

Stay classy, Peter King.

Exactly. He says Green Bay will win, but his reasoning has nothing to do with talent or strategy. The assumption that Dallas will lay down because Green Bay's season is on the line is ridiculous.

Peter King is what's wrong with sports journalism...

In large part, yes.

He's a guy that blindly supported Brett Favre because Favre was a great source of info for him. Once Favre made him look like an idiot, he then went out of his way to chastise Favre and his play. The professional journalist would have accepted Favre's info and then be unbiased about his play on the field. And when Favre burned him on his 'retirement', the professional journalist would have stopped going to Favre for information and still be unbiased about his play on the field.

The professional journalist who writes about FOOTBALL doesn't go into writing about MLB, the Sopranos, Starbucks coffee and his daughter's softball games.

But, King has a lot of popularity and the hard working, professional football journalist sees this and follows his lead.

It's a shame really.
