Anyone got any health updates on the pair? Skandrick was shown on the bike after being taken out so I assume con. protocol. But how bad is Swaim pectoral injury? Time to activate Hannah if more than 2 weeks?

Hopefully Hanna is ready to practice and play. Swaim could be out for a bit. Escobar nearly cost us that game-winning TD. Escobar got pushed back and BARELY held up just long enough for Zeke to squeak thru.

The fact is, he did make the block. How can you call him out for nearly costing us the game because he almost didn't make the block?

Did they ever say that the Scandrick injury was related to a concussion? I seem to remember him being on one knee after being injured and my first thought was that he re-aggravated his hamstring. Riding the bike would make more sense for a leg injury too, but I could be way off here.

has scandrick mad that much of a difference since his return?

If Mo were still healthy, I don't think we would have even realized Scandrick was gone yesterday. But having McFadden out there killed us.

Anthony Brown has completely outplayed Scandrick.

I would say so, especially with Mo injury. Best blitzer on the team. Also his replacement gave up the go ahead touchdown this week. We are very thin at corner.
The CB McFadden was actually not terrible. That TD was when the Steelers faked spiking the ball. McFadden was the only player on defense that didn't get completely faked out, although he might have been a step delayed because of the fake. The pass rushers and Safeties were just standing still because they thought it was going to be a spike. McFadden was defending Antonio Brown, the best WR in the league on that play.

So, in other words, Escobar made the block, and Zeke ran untouched into the end zone.

I swear, some folks can find the worst in everything.

Agree on Brown > Scandrick (Scandrick does not look the same as before the knee injury).

McFadden didn't really "kill" the team. He gave up the TD to Brown on the fake spike play and there was a completion behind him in zone coverage where is appeared that he should have had more help (He had to choose to cover the guy in the flat or the guy behind him which indicates that somebody else should have had better coverage on 1 or those 2 players.).

TEs never dominate on that type of reach block. Swaim/Hanna would likely have looked identical on that particular block.

I never said he cost us the game. My point was to show that blocking is not Escobar's strength and that Garrett/Linehan lean heavily on the 2 TE set, particularly Swaim, to provide sturdy blocking. If forced to replace Swaim with Escobar, it likely will force them to alter the gameplan. So given how the coaches like to deploy and use that 2nd TE, I'd much rather have Hanna in there whose strengths are better used in that role.

But yes, you are right, Escobar deserves credit for standing in there and getting the job done on a crucial play.
