Swaim will bounce back

For sure, but there's no absolutely no excuse for dropping those passes, he's not gonna get anything easier

I think about 10 years ago, someone said the Longhorns would bounced back.....not so much. I am rooting for him, but damn, he has to catch the ball.

FWIW, Todd Archer says there's no way he doesn't make the team.

He had better since Hanna is now getting knee surgery.

The numbers don't work in his favor for making the team, unless we keep four.

This kid is blue collar to the core. He was my favorite day 3 pick last year. A UT beat writer told me he's the one guy on the team you want by your side in an alley fight. Although he transferred into the UT program, he quickly developed a rep as an enforcer in the locker room. Re-watching the game, his blocking has improved a lot. My guess is a year in the strength program has helped him a lot. I know the drops were ugly, but I think nerves played into it b/c he's a Cali kid who probably had a lot of friends/family watching him play. I believe the rave reviews from camp. I bet he plays better and earns a spot on the 53. I wonder if they'll keep 4 tight ends...

I couldn't agree more. Not sure why people want to write him off after two bad plays. I think the kid has potential and would like to see what he can offer.

Good luck getting anything for McFadden or Hanna.

I could see a team giving us a 4th or a 5th for McFadden if they lose their lead running back but still feel like they could compete. Longshot though, I agree.

McFadden could fetch something from a team that loses a back. Nothing big, but something.

Hanna is not tradeable now with his injury.

Hanna wasn't tradeable as soon as he signed that new contract.
