I'm not 100% sure it is. But the guy we had out to clean our pool filters and install that check valve (something i now know I could have done myself after watching youtube vids) said thats the most likely scenario as well.

I assume you have one filter for both or are they on separate systems, ie one filter for the spa and one filter for the pool?

2 separate filters. You can seem them both in the 4th picture from the top.
