I have yet to see proof Steele is more than a backup RT who shines at times.

It appears the Cowboys will stretch out their kicker competition throughout camp. Hajrullahu appears the favorite at the moment to win the job, but might be 1 of those trades prior to cutdown. We just need a kicker who can be consistent on extra points and making his kicks inside 45 yards. Easier said then done.

I believe the Cowboys are high on several of their younger receivers, but also would like to add a veteran to the group at some point. Question is, are there any fa receivers they like and at what cost? Could we see a lesser trade for one?

Wally appears done for the preseason with a injured shoulder, probably looks like a redshirt yr coming. Reports suggests Josh Ball play has been up and down thus far early in camp. They are going to protect Tyron in the preseason games and throw Ball into the fire, if he struggles, they will sign a veteran to fill the role.

We'll also nee that kicker to be clutch in the late last 2-3 minutes of the game and halves, as well as the winning big kick, .. seasons, divisions and playoff games
are won and lost on those kicks

Point is, we need a quality kicker and it doesn't appear we have one currently on the active roster

IDK......if they felt that strongly about fixing the problem, I think they would have already signed another vet. Beasley and Fuller are sitting out there, why haven't we signed one already? I think they're going with Brown, Tolbert, and Pollard. As mentioned in another thread, according to a beat writer, Pollard is attending RB and WR meetings. Walker made an interesting point that if no other WR is signed, we won't have a No.2 per se. It will be Lamb No.1 and WR by committee.
There isn't much quality out there on the open market. Beasley burned bridges here on his way out and still is unvaccinated, Fuller has major issues on and off the field. Who else? Sanders is 35. ODB is injured. We saw what happens when they went receiver by committee, they were forced to trade a #1 pick to fix the problem.

Didn't the team go unbeaten in that 5 game stretch when Steele had to replace Collins due to his suspension.
they did fairly well . I think camp reports haver him struggling a bit. I hear most of that is attributed to Dlaw havig a good camp though. There probably isnt anyone available thats going to be an improvement on Steele is where the problem lays unless you are including draft capital amd trading

forget swing tackle,i am actually very concerned about our RT.
There’s a reason this teams ceiling is winning the division. That would probably be a big accomplishment. First time in 20 years to go back to back when the rest of the roster outside QB is fairly average relative to the rest of the NFC East.

True but this is a bit different. Then we didn't have a true No. 1 or 2. At least now we have potentially a No.1 and our No. 2 is expected back 4-6 games. Also, Coop, Gallup, and Wilson averaged 8.7 catches, 112 yards, and 1 TD combined last season over 17 games. In other words, these are numbers we trying to replace until Gallup return.

RT and C seem to be the biggest issues. I am not too concerned about WR because I think the reinforcements come soon. Steele is not a starter. That is not going to change. TB just can’t play. That guy really surprised me. Smith can help right now but if history is a guide LT is an issue at some point. Jerry has all that cap money. He best look at a vet OL add.

Good analysis. What do you think will happen with Tristan Hill? Hearing good things. Appears to be the 3rd best defensive tackle in camp.

Rams and Jets are the two teams with a kicking situation worth monitoring. Both have two kickers that would come to Dallas and immediately be the starter.. thats not really saying much though.

This offense must find balance this year or teams will do the opposite, load the box and force these receivers to win their matchups.
