If nothing else, the defense needs more talent.
I think we have talent. Just lack experience. Irving and Lawrence are nice bookends and Lewis, Brown, Jones and Chedo are nice young DBs. I don't subscribe to the 'get higher picks while we are short of the SB' thought process. I believed we should have kept one of the vets at corner and went out and got a SS while our draft resources developed. I thought we could compete for a SB this season if done properly. After a complete revamp of the secondary, I thought no way we'd be ready to make it to the SB in the next couple years. Then Dak get's paid which means we start running into having to pay our young core which will be limiting what we can do in FA and resigning our own.
