Syracuse over Notre Dame

I never understood why so many people hate Notre Dame. I guess for the same reason so many people hate the Cowboys. AFAIC, Notre Dame is too irrelevant to hate. Maybe if they were actually good and actually beat teams I liked then I would hate them. But I just don't see that happening anytime soon.

We were in BCS Bowl games just 2 years ago; and 3 years before that. Would have been nice to win one.
Irrelevent is something I would love someone to really define.

ND gets a lot of press no matter what (just like the Boys do).
We have not won a playoff game in about as long as ND has not won a bowl game.

Notre Dame is irrelevant to the national championship picture and has been for almost 15 years now. I'd rather no one talked about me but my team actually mattered than vice-versa.

Hey don't get me wrong... I got nothing against Notre Dame, I just think they are a mediocre team and don't deserve half the press (or half the animosity) they get.

Notre Dame has a bowl losing streak for the same reason BC has a bowl-winning streak: Fan support. ND is probably the best draw in college football, so they get "over-invited" to bowls they don't deserve to go to. So they lose to superior teams. BC is the opposite. They have crappy fan support for a team of their caliber, so they get "under-invited" during the bowl season.

Is the scuttlebutt really about firing him or is it just fans wishes?

The AD said this week Weis wasn't being fired anytime soon, that could change though since they lost to Syracuse. He has a huge buyout according to ESPN, SI, and others.

Charlie was a great OC- just does not seem to have that little something extra that top HCs have. Like Norv and others who were really good OC's.

He wasnt even a good OC. He knew the plays and had Brady as his QB, and hasnt been able to do anything with his 'decided schematic advantage'.
