T.O. Is The Tuna's Best Friend

I agree with this....

I don't know how anyone can say that he has been "underutilized". I believe that he has more passes thrown his wy than any other receiver on this team.

I didn't say "underutilized", I said "poorly utilized", and there is a big difference.

I will say it again, because I want to be heard on this. I am not a T.O. apologist. I sometimes wonder if, because the coaches don't use him properly, the offense might run more smoothly if he were not here.

But I will also say, that if you are going to have the guy on your roster, use him the right way.

There are not enough slants
There are not enough SHORT crossing patterns
There is not enough of moving him around to different spots prior to the snap

The one thing they do RIGHT with him, is throw him those WR screens/hitches, that let him use his strength.

But to put him way outside and just run him up the sidelines all day is just plain stupid and a waste of his abilities.

Because, (in my opinion), he has been used incorrectly for much of the year, I think it is unfair to try and hang disappointing team performances on HIM.

I don't hear the coaches doing that. I don't hear players doing that. But ESPN and the like do it every single day.

I will say until the season is over, that if you use Terrell Owens the right way he is a dominating force on a football field. That is true whether you like him or whether you hate him. Even Charles Haley, today, didn't take issue with Owens and said that the guy is super talented. He is. There is no debating that. Have there been drops? Yes. But has he been used properly? I say no.

He says he beat those double teams and led the league in yards per catch last year.

Had over 1000 yards too.:D

Let's dig a little deeper...

TG as a Cowboy

2003 754 yards, started 14 games
2004 400 yards, started 6 games
2005 1136 yards, started 16 games

It looks like I just didn't dig deep enough. As I previously stated, ask your boy how happy he is to have a compliment on the other side that relieves him of the double team.

Dig all you want - I doubt you could even explain why the 14 starts (and it was 15) or the 6.

The same question, btw, could be asked of Owens.

While you're busy ceaselessly denigrating TG, the beloved receiver, consider the fact he often draws double teams as well, and until the Falcons game when the highly overrated 'cover-corner' Hall turne his attention to Owens, TG saw more coverage from the legit #1 corners our opponents had to offer.

If your trashing of TG also includes the premise TO made him, well thiunk again.

You're very good at putting words in the mouths of others and making assumptions. Copy and paste time again.

Like I have said time and time again, I think TG has been an incredible acquisition for this team. Just don't expect me to snuggle up next to him. Homey don't play that.

TO would wholeheartedly acknowedge the compliment that TG brings to the other side of the field.

Ok. your turn...

It looks as though the NFL Players disagree with your assessment.

"[Based on a survey of 361 NFL players]"

Rebuttal Jimz? What do you make of this poll?

Was that poll not taken BEFORE the season began? take a look at who the receivers said was the best. Harrison. Only 12.5 % of QB's even said that T.O. was the one.

Are you maintaining that T.O. is the BEST WR out there?

TO would?

That's news to me.

He just wants MORE of Terry's rightful balls.

(doesn't sound right, but you catch my drift)

Are you maintaining that the spread, which was an opinion of a player after 10+ years in the league, has changed drastically after 15 additional games?

I'm maintaining that when 361 NFL players were asked in October they indicated TO was the best receiver in their eyes. Unless you can show me a more recent poll of some sort that follows the same NFL player lines there really isn't much else to say here.

You can never resist the urge to take a potshot at TO in just about every one of your posts. It's amazing. I'm enjoying it.

Gotcha...the most over-rated poll was taken AFTER this one.

You are right....not much to say here.
