John Clayton reported last night on ESPN that T.O.'s agent has hinted that T.O. would show up for TC and stay for one day then walk out. The Eagles have said if T.O. does this they will send him a letter telling him he has 5 days to report or they will place him on the Unavailable temp retired list which would mean T.O. would not get paid a dime from the eagles this year he could not go else where because he is still Eagles Property and his contract would simply back up if he decided to play in 06 which means he would get his 05 money in 06 and not get his bonus he is due in 06 until 07. It sounds to me like the Eagles are ready for almost anything T.O. does.

EDIT: If not for this T.O. crap this offseason would have been rather boring. Thanks T.O keep it up.....

So is his idea, if this is true, to try and show up to get his bonus and then bug out?

What T.O. and his agent fail to realize is that even though they MAY get another contract with another team down the road (which they picked the wrong team in the eagles to try this ploy) is that all of T.O.'s whining with both the 49ers and Eagles ....even if he does get another contract with another team (because there will always be another team that will want his services) chances are the next team will either not give him the amount of money he wants....or if they do they will require some type of clause or clauses in the contract that protects themselves if he starts acting up again.
And at this point, with his past and demeanor, it would only be a matter of time before he did it again.

T.O. and his agent are only hurting his long term money situation IMO.

It's an interesting ploy, a game of chicken really. Would the Eagles really put T.O. on the reserved/retired list? The key is, T.O. would probably return for the last 9 games of the regular season in order to accrue a year of service, and the Eagles sure could use his services then. If they put him on the list, he's done for the season (I believe so anyway - please correct me if I'm wrong).

No matter what happens, this is a lose-lose situation for the Eagles. They're either going to lose the best player on their team or keep him and have him be a disruption in the locker room.

Funny how we haven't heard much from AJM lately, who told us in March T.O. was just trying to find a way to miss training camp.

From the way John Clayton said it last night if T.O. refuses to report after the letter is sent and the 5 day period after that and they place him on the temp retired list it sounded like he wouldn't be able to play this year. I think once your placed on the retired list you have a 1 year wait before you can play again. So he wouldn't be able to report for the last nine games.

Remember they where going to give Rickey and exemption because the team went to the NFL and asked for it. I doubt the Eagles would do the same for T.O. if he did this.

Really i can see how the eagles orgnization doing this, there saying hey we've been to the NFC championship 3 times in a row, we even won one WITHOUT TO. So they really dont need him, yea he helped them out during the regular season, but when it mattered most TO didnt help, he cauaght 8 passes 100 yards, and they still lost, why, because of Mcnabb, not because they didnt have TO. They dont need him, and there not gonna put up with him, there showing the rest of the players on that team thats tryin to hold out, or has plans of threatening the orgnization, will not be playing for them, and they wont grant them freedom by trading them or cutting them, so they get to go play for another team.

as much as i hate say it, the orgnization is being very smart with this, and i think are ready for anything TO tries to do.

Eagles 2 TO 0

As much as I despise the Eagles, I would be willing to place a small wager that the Eagles will bend first, and T.O. will win this stalemate.

The Eagles are so HARD UP for a trophy and they know, whether they want to admit or not, that they desperately need him...because without him, they are just an average receiving team...McSlob is not as good as everyone thinks he is, and he NEEDS T.O. to help him!

I like the way the Eagles are putting out their information, but, I just think they are testing the water to see if T.O. bites...and T.O. is swimming around just letting that worm squirm around a little before he bites it's head off!

I pray I'm wrong, however, I just think the Eagles will make a concession on this problem.

Another thing, I also believe that the Eagles don't know that they are the "hunted" this year, a position that they are not experienced at. Every team they play this season, from the worst to the best, will give them all they can handle, and then some! No more stroll in the woods for the stanky Birds...and if the DO realize this, then they will probably cave into T.O.s wishes. Remember, the Boyz almost beat them last year, with a bad Boyz squad...now this year is a TOTALLY different game!

Mkyle

P.S. To the Eagle fan...are you ready to accept it, when the Dallas Cowboys "bring it"? Because, it's on the way...FedEx!! Fools you are...! :starspin

I am trying to figure out why most people think the Eagles hold all the card.......

Last time I checked the Eagles WR depth chart without Terrel Owens read:

87 Todd Pinkston :ralph:

83 Greg Lewis :lmao2:

16 Justin Jenkins Who??

80 Billy McMullen :lmao:

86 Reggie Brown :puke:

So while I :iggles: the Eagels as much as the next Cowboy fan. I realize that after training camp and Andy Reid realizes he doesn't have passing game that would scare a nat, the Eagles will either trade Owens for a WR worth a damn or reach some form of an agreement.

I remember all the Ty Law detractors....It's amazinghow most teams are now bringing him in for work-outs and looking into restructuring other contracts to try and fit him in.

The Eagles are blowing as much smoke as TO and his agent. They'll realize how valuable TO is once they put those WRs above out on the field.

I'm sure I will get blasted.....but it's kinda fun seeing this happen.....The Cowboys were the laughing stock a few seasons ago with all the hoopla surrounding, Irvin, Newton, Jerry's bonehead moves, Quincy, etc. etc......It's finally good to see someone else in the headlines for a change and what makes it better......it's Philly!!! :lmao2:

Is that transpires and everything is backed up 1 year (I really don't know the ruling on this) then his Spring roster bonus could be delayed a year too. Which is pretty hefty from what I hear. If he is not elidgable for that until the next year and the Eagles THEN choose not to pay it (2007) and release him, he will be, what 33-34 ? With a BAAADDD history.

This has already cost the dummy money. He would end up with more money just playing out his current contract. 7 years 49 million is probably more than anyone else would pay him now at this point anyhow.

I'm just not sure what the guy is thinking ? He must think the Eagles will release him and he can get another 10 million signing bonus somewhere else and make a ton of up front money again. I really don't think thats going to happen, because of the stink he has already made.

You know the ole saying, you've made your bed, now lie in it. Tell ya what, someone makes me a $49 million dollar bed, I'd not only lie in it, I'd eat in it, work in it...whatever.

TO, I double dare you to leave 1 day into camp. I'll bet he'll here that from a few of his team mates the 1st day of practice...Go home you pu$$y.

The intersting part of all this is that, with every opeing of T.O. or Rosenhaus moth they are digging a deeper hole with the Philly fans. If he had handled this differently he might of gotten some sympathy. He could have asked that some of the guaranteed money be moved forward for example. Philly has some cap room and given T.O.'s performance they might have considered it. Now, he just looks like crap.

How will the Philly fans react to this guy? They'll boo him to start, but what about after the first TD or two. I do not believe T.O. has the mentality to handle being booed at home. At this point it looks to me like a long season in Philly if T.O. does anything except show up to camp and just shut up.

Minus Mitchell it's the same wrs that got them to the SB after TO went down

They still have LJ Smith and Westbrook also the last time I checked

the SuperBowl? The Eagles are now in a totally different set of circumstances! They have now become the "hunted", not the "hunter"...

They could not win when they were the "hunter", now the coin has turned!

Yeah, they won the NFC for a few years, and I think that was because the NFC has been relatively weak for those few years...but, as the old song says.

"Oh, the times they are a changin..."

I hope your right, but, I think you will see the Eagles fold their wings, and give T.O. the worms that he wants... :banghead:

Mkyle

P.S. to the Eagle fan...the Boyz are gift wrapping it up to "bring it" to ya...you really want it? :lmao:

You can say that again, in fact the Eagles draw the biggest training camp crowd in the league, usually somewhere in the neighborhood of 10K for the opening. He'd be better off sucking down the fines and showing up at the end of training camp because the fans are going to tear him a new ....

This is starting to look so very familiar.

Different team (iggles vs 49'rs), same player, ...... and same story.
