They probably feel the same as they have about many others in the past….they think he is better than he is.

I don’t expect him on this years team.

My favorite was his 4.3 self timed 40 and people around here gushed over it.

I don’t even care if it was legit because he plays way slower.
Yeah even his college film...did not look like 4.3 time at all. And he doesn't play as big as he is....

What's the word on Hilton this season? Any possibility that he comes back earlier on in training camp? Or will he be available to teams needing WR help again towards the end of the year like last year?
He sat out until November to watch his son play high school ball. His son will be playing HS ball again this year, so don't expect him to do anything different.

Didn't say that either. Just saying he added something that was needed there at the end
It would be nice if he sticks around for us as we approach the playoffs. Or if he's open to the possibility. I was just wondering if they were willing to make him an offer like $4 million if he would be willing.

But I guess when you've made $80 million, going going to your son's games might be more important.

I hope they bring him back and see how he look with a full off season.
It doesn't sound like he's that dedicated. I presume with another year off, he may be as much as done... Outside of that one catch, he really didn't do much, statistically, himself. Although I would argue he helped Gallup be more productive and take control of the game momentarily in the Bucs game, just enough to spark the rest of the offense.

That, I would say, was a team effort, though.

Hilton looked pretty good when he first signed, but disappeared. With the addition of Cooks that pretty much spells the end for Hilton. There’s really no room for him. The Cowboys haven’t given up on Jalen Tolbert and they may draft a WR. Hilton would be a progress stopper.

If we can count on Hilton to return, we probably don't need to draft a WR just yet. But if he doesn't, I think its likely we ought to draft one somewhere in the first 5 rounds.
Competent and cheap, while a pro's pro.

Straight up I'd take him over Gallup.

And realistically for our roster, we've got Cook for 2 years and Lamb likely getting his free agent contract. Draft a guy this year, and how is he supposed to develop behind Lamb, Gallup, and Cooks?

I think with the signing of Cooks, we made the decision that we won't be drafting a WR with a premium pick this year. *Maybe* next year if we let Gallup go.

No business bringing back a near 34 year old WR.

Ditto here.

We were forced to go after him in mid season because we made very questionable decisions with the WR unit going into 2022 season
and certain players flat failed us.

The fact that it was mid season probably helped Hilton stay as healthy as he very surprisingly did.

Yea it's up to him really. Most of the vets prefer to wait until the season starts to minimize all the unnecessary to them

Cowboys have been indulged in visiting, meeting and talking to WRs prior to the NFL draft ... no doubt it's looking like we will at least be
drafting another developing Cedrick Wilson type at some point of the NFL draft.
Maybe someone that has versatility that can help out on special teams as well,

I have my doubts that we will draft a WR in the first round unless a very highly regard WR on their draft board surprisingly slips that far
and places them in a position where they feel they just cannot pass him up.

its been known he like coaching his children's teams, so im not sure he wants to come in early. why not have an insurance handshake deal that if needed you can go get him at midseason again if injuries happen.

Wasn't the storyline about Hilton that he was focused on following and supporting his son's football play last fall than playing in the league... and only came aboard after his season was over?
Appears to me that's a man who's putting his NFL life to bed and moving on.

3 regular season games with the Cowboys - 7 catches, 121 yards...with 52 of them coming on one play v. PHL on Xmas Eve.
2 postseason games- 3 catches, 38 yards..with one accounting for 15.

In summary -- no need to entice Hilton to come back for 2023.
