Much better precision in hand placement. Earlier he would flail around trying to keep his hands active but to little effect. Now he is getting the shoulder and attacking the punch.

Remains stout at the point of attack against the run needs to continue to get better at using his hands to shed and make tackles upfield.

He still needs to get stronger in the arms, chest and core before he takes that next step. We have seen similar transformations with DLaw who is a very similar player.

I think that he will end the season with a 2 or 3 more sacks and end up where many predicted he would. How he progresses depends on how he lifts this offseason. Torque, curl, press, and clean Taco.

Wow....a positive comment about our friend Taco?? Was on the Watt train myself, but I reserve judgement on Charlton until after next year. Still think he has good enough traits to be a solid player.

He seems to get smacked around a bit due to lack of balance and footwork. Those are things he can improve upon.

At least twice last night, I saw him try to rush and he easily got taken to the ground because he quickly got off balance. On one, it looked like he made himself trip.

It was too soon to write him off as a bust like some have tried.

When he got the sack, I made a mental note to go back and bump the post you made a couple of days ago that said he was improving. I'm sure you remember it, it was in a thread full of posts about Taco being terrible.

Since when were immediate results ever expected from a late first round DE?
Esp from Cowboys fans..... lol

Carver
Pittman
Ekuban

I know I'm leaving a couple out...

What I'm saying is that Taco, considering a 28th overall selection, is showing a high ceiling.

Myself, I'm good with that for now.

We still have a year of Irving (RFA) and D-Law (franchise maybe) to see what we have in them. By that time, Maliek Collins will be going into his contract year and we should have a better idea of what we have in him too. That'll probably be around the time when Taco has developed enough for us to tell whether or not he is someone we can build around.

this may be the best news out of yesterday's game.

Don’t forget Gregory. I know, I know. You’re probably snickering right now. However, he is still on the team and still in their plans .

He's played much better since they have moved him to the left side. Him and Lawerence platooning...is working. Could be a solid rotation for years.

Cowboys need to embrace the idea it takes 8 along the D-line...

his spin move is still useless, he just circles around, with the OL man just twirling him. that has to do with his hands placement before he does his spin.

If he has any chance of ever contributing, we'll know next year, probably sooner than later. All in all, after next season, we'll have some big decisions to make regarding the D-line. Similar to this past year with the secondary.

I see that as lack of core strength and poor footwork. Body control and core strength go hand in hand. He was on the ground a couple times trying an inside move. He used the spin move before contact. There were other mistakes.

The outside rush is where I am seeing the most improvement.

Get the hell out of here with that nonsense. He is NOT stout in any facet of the game.

It's not useless. He just does not have the timing down. It is quick enough to be effective, his issue is he should be using it as a counter instead of a setup move.

The thing that stands out to me is that he is constantly trying out all kinds of moves. The spin, the inside swim, the bull rush. What you see with a lot of young players is they only try the move that they are best at and don't work on the rest.

He keeps getting stronger and continues to work at his whole game like he has and he is going to emerge eventually.

Wow bro. Disingenuous much? He definitely looked more refined last night then what we witnessed early on this season. His arrow is pointing up for the foreseeable future. I can't break it down like fuzzy but the eyes don't lie.

Roy trolls. It's what he does and he is not worth responding to. He just gets off to it and does it even more.
