A lot of people are still so butt hurt about Jerry's role in the departures of Landry and Johnson that they refuse to concede credit to Jerry, ever. Even when it's deserved.

Jerry has made a lot of mistakes and was responsible for a lot of long, hard years as a fan. But OP is right, he really is a great OWNER.

I'm a fan of Jerrys, regardless of what people say the clearly loves this team, HIS players, and the sport. He's always been loyal to a fault towards his players. But if he believes in them he will go above and beyond.

I whole heatedly agree, however, I won't be tipping my hat to him for this reason, because there was a time to ensure that this couldn't happen and that was 2011. And I have no doubt that Jerry and all of the owners will want some concession in exchange for Goodell not being the say so with player discipline.

I like Jerry to some degree, but he enables poor behavior. He is the reason for the lack of accountability and the CC atmosphere in Dallas. Standing by your players is nice, but not when they do stupid things. Not saying Zeke was guilty, just pointing out how he is too loyal in many instances.

this front office and head coach have no credibility. they stood there and said hardy was innocent because they can't find ends to hit the quarterback.

Or like most things in a rich, full life...Jerry always trying to do the right thing AND stick by his team. To Jerry, being good doesn't negate responsible as well!!
