If they were all available in the 45th to 58th range. Who would you pick if you HAD to and why?

Mardy Gilyard
Dexter McCluster
Golden Tate

Tate then McCluster. I wouldn't take Gilyard in the 2nd. We pick 59. I wouldn't trade up for any of them.

golden tate.

while i think the other 2 guys may be better on STs, i think tate would develop into a better wideout in time. and on STs, i think tate would be pretty good as well.

i also think tate could sort of be the cowboys p harvin (minn). between austin, ogletree, and tate, we'd have a nice group of young receivers.

Tate, though he won't be there. He looks a lot like Hines Ward to me. He does damage with the ball in his hands.

I love Gilyard but I would go Tate hands down.

This....

Tate will surely be gone though.

I feel much better about him in this range than in the late 1st round.

As much as I like McCluster, if Tate is there, you have to take him. If Dexter were bigger and proved he could run pro-style routes adequately, that might be different.

The Cowboy representative at the draft would be sprinting to the podium screamin TATE...TATE..!!!!

Well, I will be the first to not pick Tate. I was surprised by his 40 time and he does have some good qualities, but I think both Gilyard and McCluster are better playmakers. I know most of you will disagree, but I would rather have Gilyard for sure. McCluster's 4.55 at his weight scares me, but he plays faster than that, while Tate plays slower than his 4.4. I would rate them

1. Gilyard
2. McCluster
3. Tate

Having said that, I have them rate all very very closely, so it isn't like it is a huge difference.

did I just read that right? No way man. Tate is by far the most dangerous receiver with the ball in his hands.

and Tate by a long shot. Hes basically a bigger version of Mccluster and is a real receiving threat. Also adequate kr/pr. Not so sure Jones doesnt target him in the 1st.

I agree with picking Tate.

If Thomas and Iupati are gone by 23 or so I wouldn't mind trading down and drafting Tate at pick 40

Tate reminds me a lot of Miles Austin. He'd be pretty decent at returning kicks too.

I don't think Hurd makes the team this year if we were able to draft a guy like Tate.

If Thomas and Iupati are gone by 23 I think we'll take Nate Allen, but trade down.

Tipsters are saying that we might even take Taylor Mays to play nickel LB...

That is my gut feeling. I also happen to have a feeling your mays thing has some credit to it even though it is just random rumors as of now.

The other thing I am thinking is the possibility of Odrick being the pick if the don't want to take Allen in the first (if Thomas and Iupati are gone) but also can't find a decent trading partner.
