Overall that is probably pretty close for May 15th. Just wondering........

No Automatica?
Glymph on final 53?
Moore #3 QB
Tyson Thompson to practice squad?
2 TE's?

Who to add?

Okay, fixed it.

Lord no.
Glymph on final 53?
Only until the Harrington kid is up to speed.
Moore #3 QB
Yep, I think he's a lot better than Baker.
Tyson Thompson to practice squad?
I doubt he's eligible.
I wanted to keep Polite as a TE/FB, but couldn't.

Why Burnett over Ayodele?
Main reason is because I think Ayodele is the most versatile of our LBs and can backup all 4 LB positions and be on the field as much as any of the 4 starters.

Put Ratliff at DE/NG and remove Bowen.

I don't see Glymph making the team. Maybe under Wade's style of D, but not likely IMO. As far as who takes that spot? Who knows?

SECONDARY (10)

Newman....Williams....Hamlin....Henry
Glenn....Davis....Watkins....Brown
Reeves...Ball

I think Elam gets in there somewhere.

OFFENSE...25 PLAYERS

OFFENSIVE LINE (9)

Looks good to me. Can anyone other then Gurode play Center?

WIDE RECEIVER (6)

Owens....Glenn
Hurd....Crayton
Stanback...Austin

Agreed. I think we keep 6 this year. If we let go of anyone I think it'll be Hurd.

TIGHT END (2)
Witten
Fasano

Pretty sure we'll have a 3rd TE. Don't know who, but going with 2 (who will both likely play a lot) is very risky.

FULLBACK (2)

Anderson
Hoyte

I don't see us keeping 2 FBs. I think Hoyte's 15 minutes are about up.

HALFBACK (3)

Jones
Barber
Coleman

Coleman? Who is that? I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Battle is our 3rd RB.

QUARTERBACK (3)

Romo
Johnson
Moore

Looks about right.

SPECIAL TEAMS...3 PLAYERS

KICKER (1)

PUNTER (1)

I have a feeling we're gonna go with two kickers so Gramatica will stay on. I know you'd love that. :D

I think we'll have at least one DB on the PS.

And put down the Nyquil.

Man, 6 WRs. Looking at it, I guess we are going to have to, unless someone offers something we can't refuse, like a 3rd rd pick for Hurd/Austin

Very nicely done Hos! Not a lot to disagree with there.

I love Glymph making the team. Something about this guy intrigues me and I hope we get to see it this year.

I don't think we will keep 2 FBs but will go with a 3rd TE, Tony Curtis maybe? It's hard to say what Garrett will want to do there.

I don't think we will keep 7 DL's and either Bowen or Stanley would be the odd man out. That frees up a spot at another position (TE or OL).

Speaking of OL, you don't have a backup Center on the team unless you are hoping Proctor can fill in, he's the only guy on your roster who might fit but that's asking a lot. I think we may still sign a FA Center before TC for insurance.

I really wish the league would up the roster to 60 instead of 53 so that teams could keep some depth and developmental players on the team.

Great job, considering it's May.

I actually do envision Ratliff doing both. I can't see us having only 6 DL though, that's why I kept Bowen & Stanley both.

It wouldn't shock me to see Hoyte back at LB and used as a FB only in goal line situations. Just a thought.

I think Elam gets in there somewhere.
I almost put him in over Reeves. Ultimately I thought Reeves could play CB and FS which is why I kept him. Elam was my hardest cut though to be truthful.

Proctor and Berger both were supposedly taking some work at Center. We only have one other on the squad, a 4th year guy named Darelik.

Exactly, who?

Agreed. I think we keep 6 this year. If we let go of anyone I think it'll be Hurd.
We agree.

Pretty sure we'll have a 3rd TE. Don't know who, but going with 2 (who will both likely play a lot) is very risky.
Yeah, I do too, the problem was who. None on our roster give me any warm fuzzies except Polite, and I just don't think he was versatile enough to be a TE mainly.

I don't see us keeping 2 FBs. I think Hoyte's 15 minutes are about up.
Like I said above, perhaps as a goal line guy, and he goes back to LB. Versatility counts for a spot in this case.

Coleman? Who is that? I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Battle is our 3rd RB.
I flipped a coin between Battle and Coleman. No joke.

Looks about right.
I think that's the easy one.

Oh joy, oh rapture. If Folk can't match him on FGs...probably true. I actually think he'll out-perform him on FGs. Remember, though Grammy was 7 for 9 for us, he had been out of the league for a couple of seasons because of accuracy and injury problems.

I think we'll have at least one DB on the PS.
I originally had Ball there. Something about a guy who can start all 4 years in the Big 10 despite weighing a quarter over a buck fitty intrigues me.

And put down the Nyquil.
Never!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't see Curtis on this team. Backup Center concerns me. I won't lie.

I think Hostile, you have it pretty close.

If we keep 7 DL, I think its another NT like Ola and not a DE like Bowen.

But I don't think 7 DL are a necessity. Hatcher, Canty, Ratliff, and Spears can man the DE spots. Stanley and Ferguson can man the NT spots. And we can move Ratliff inside if need be.

The wild card is actually Greg Ellis. He can play OLB and DE in Wade's scheme (he played 3-4 DE under Parcells and OLB under Parcells, why not Wade?)

We can use that extra spot created on a 3rd TE, which probably will happen.

The next question is the FB spot. I think only one makes the roster since Fasano can see time as the FB/H-Back/TE. Deon Anderson seems to be a fan favorite, so maybe we can pencil him in.

That creates a spot.

To use at K. Folk could need a year to get acclimated. Its not uncommon (unless a team drafts a K in the 2nd round like Nugent or 3rd round like Kaeding).

Folk for KO's; Grammatica for FG's.

And if you are really worried about only having 6 DL, take off a DB. We can make do with 5 CB's and 4 S's (Newman, Henry, Glenn, Brown, Reeves, Hamlin, Williams, Davis, and Watkins). Stash Ball on P.S.

It seems that Battle fits the new Offensive philosophy better than the kid from Hampton. Also, he could be a b/u FB if need be. I agree about using Fasano as the b/u FB, freeing up a space for a 2nd kicker. I know Hos knows more about Folk than most of the rest of us, but I'm skeptical that he's ready to be an NFL placekicker right now. Ball to the PS and that U of H TE at # 3 makes some sense, as well.

I really like the versatility of this roster. I think Ayodele can play all 4 LB spots and so can James, though I feel he is going to end up a backup.

Hoyte can fill in at LB and goal line FB.

Ellis can move up to DE from OLB.

Carpenter can play inside or outside and even DT in a 4-3 look as he did last year a couple of times.

Burnett can play inside or outside.

Ratliff can play across the DL.

I feel Hamlin is going to be the best thing for Watkins. Especially when they are in the Nickel and Roy is up closer to the LOS.

My guesses:

Elam makes it.

Glymph and Bowen probably not (although I like Glymph).

Q. Butler probably makes it over Brown or Ball. Unless N. Jones does.
