I like Mckinnley but this will be a red shirt year for him with his injury, not sure we can afford for our 1st rd to basically be a non factor his first season.
Is there a problem with him outside his injury? I don't know much about him but did see a positive piece about him on the NFL Network. If he ends up being the choice at 28, I would be very disappointed.
He is extremely raw and hardly polished. Is a bit of a project. Combine that needed learning curve with the injury, it is not good for a team that can't afford to be patient. Is there a problem with him outside his injury? Unfortunately when you let pretty much most of your secondary walk in FA, sign one terrible retread in their place and still don't have a pass rush after years of tinkering with it, you kind of find yourself in a situation where you have to think about drafting for need.
"Can't afford to be patient" = must produce right now = draft for need.
You don't draft a player in the 1st round with no discernible skills for the position. There is 0 evidence of him using his hands like an actual pass rusher or any real pass rush moves. Nor is he capable of bending like a speed rusher should be able to. Basically he has the size, straight line speed of a rusher, and a motor but nothing else
McKInley's getting the Dontari Poe/Joey Bosa treatment on this board where now everyone unites behind the idea he'd be a terrible pick. Except he's a really, really good player who will probably shine in the NFL like the other two.
It has nothing to do with need."Can't afford to be patient" = must produce right now = draft for need.
Not if you have any clue how to draft you don't.
"Listen, our roster is such that we must screw up the draft."
