Talent or coaching?

For the past decade(s), Dallas fans have heard season after season the Cowboys "have so much talent". And season after season, this franchise can't make it to a NFC title game.
Many times, just get to 7-9/8-8/9-7 When you look at the Patriots, you might not even name a single player on their DL (w/o looking it up), the Seahawks/Packers/and a few other teams are not "loaded" with talent, but seem to be CONSISTANTLY good every season.

How ?

COACHING and it is why the fans of the Cowboys just keep chanting for a new coach.
It is disappointing but when Garrett was hired, though it was a good one. Ivy League guy, learned under Nick Saban, Jimmy Johnson and was a QB. So, remove Garrett and the team can be in a former situation in the late 90s with numerous coaches walking the sideline for Dallas.

There is some talent on the roster, but the organization is largely directionless with nobody really in charge on a day to day level. The Jones Boyz make money decisions, but there doesn't seem to be much of an overall plan.

Wait. Is this another thread about how bad the coaching is? Revolutionary thought, sir! Why hadn't anyone else thought of that?!

All you have to do is watch a game like the last one to see all the horrific blunders that Garrett makes. And its the same one over and over and over again. The week before it was an undisciplined, chaotic team with dumb penalties. EVERY week its a slow start and a lack of game plan.

If a fan cant see how horrid Garrett really is then really there is not hope at all. They are just completely clueless.

All you need to do is look at how this team handles injuries.
What happens to a unit when they lose key personnel-even a single one.
When did you last finish watching a Cowboy game and thought the coaching was the difference.

The head coach is useless to scheme his team to victories.....in other words he is useless.

This team has continually under performed in 9 out of 10 big games, games where playoff position were at stake or big time night games with a national audience against other good teams, and during this big games were are continually out gameplaned, out coached, and unable to adjust to in game curveballs thrown by opposing coaches

coaching. i think a lot of the times it feels our defense is put out of position to make plays. this is obvious in how we struggle all year to defend things like RB flares or screens.

Were missing a few pieces but were two games better then our record with a good head coach IMO, we beat the Jets and Vikings at home

possibly the saints because they wouldn’t have ran the running back into a brick wall repeatedly in that game either.

FOR THE RECORD-I NEVER wanted Garrett as head coach, and wanted him replaced as Offensive Coordinator after the Cowboys lost 3 of their last 4 games in 2007.
His incompetence was glaring, and the discipline instilled in the offense under Bill Parcells was disappearing while we watched.
By 2008 the Cowboys missed the playoffs. In 2009 they finally used Tashard Choice and were running over teams.
One glaring tendency for Garrett's offense was the interceptions in their own end of the field.
It was Garrett- not Wade Phillips- that destroyed the 2010 season.

Jerry has to conclude one of two things:

1. The talent is lacking, or

2. The coaches are lacking.

If he sees himself as a football guy (he does) then he has to be getting the picture that Garrett is a bad coach and squandering talent that Jones has drafted. Otherwise he has to conclude that maybe he (Jones) really isn't a football guy and can't put together a team that good coaching can win with.

Really? How would that New Orleans game have tuned out if it weren’t for over rated talent?

This question poses a big dilemma for the Garrett fanbois. They claim Garrett is this great talent evaluator who rebuilt a talentless team Wade left to this great team full of talent.

If that was true, why has this team underachieve so much? If this is a talented team, it must be coaching.
