I see in near every thread "we have more talent"...

do we?

are you sure?

says who??

the other teams have good players who also get paid last time I checked..

the talking heads on TV? say we have more talent... the folks who think the names look good on paper? OK if they say so last time I check this isnt 1988 or 1992 and the most "talented team" does not win in the NFL any more... its a much different game than it was long ago..

maybe the Dallas cowboys don't have all this talent... they are 1-3 after all.

Again. We are very talented. Except for at SS, FS, ILB, ILB, K, RG, RT. So beyond that, we are a talented team.

They dominated statistically vs the Skins, Bears and Titans. Stupid mistakes and turnovers took them down each time.

The hallmark of a talented, albeit dumb, undisciplined team.

love the screen name

You know what??? You're right this team's talent is overrated....but what's worse is they are dumb.....not a good combination.

so stats dont win games... big plays at big moments.. do.. just saying... I can think of a few teams that got dominated in the stats department in the superbowl but still won the game. just saying man stats look good for FF people thats about it,.

Just a note on that. Richie Whitt in the postgame show kept saying that we dominated all day but somehow managed to blow it... And then kept citing Romo's passing yards.

But turnovers are the most important stat there is. Everyone knows it, or should know it. And no team turns the ball over three times and wins. Adam or Rich would have the numbers, but I bet it's seriously about 10% of the time that a team can do that and win -- maybe less.

Defensively, I think we are a little overrated. We need to learn how to create turnovers...especially against turnover-prone teams (i.e. Bears & Titans).

Offensively, we are very talented. Look at how we move the ball with ease up and down the field. It's the same old thing...turnovers, penalties, bad red-zone playcalls, missed field goals that keep getting us killed. It all trickles down to coaching. No if, ands, or buts about it...

If they were not a talented team they would not put up the numbers they do. Mentally they are not talented and they dont have a leader either. Its too bad!

I would say turnover kill drives true but the turnover isnt what beats you its the points off turnover that does.

I would rather have a group of players that make big plays at big moments then "talent" just saying folks..

Never said they did. But playing dumb, undisciplined football will lose you games, regardless of how talented you are.

again you get tied up in numbers...

not trying to slam you but people that say that are the same people who thinks a player like Big ben is a "ok" QB... because he usually doesnt have huge passing numbers but some how he has won 2 superbowls... and plays BIG at big moments

again numbers these days are inflated... in so many ways for players

Sure Looked like Vince young had a pretty good day... he is talented...

Oh, absolutely. Those turnovers pretty much render everything good the team did today moot.

Oh yea man I agree 100%

still people say how talented this team is... I mean is it really?

If you watched the Cowboys offense roll up and down the field and aren't convinced this team is not talented, then something is wrong. The reason they are not scoring more (and even contributing points to the other team) is due to turnovers and penalties. How many turnovers did the Titans have? Did they move the ball effortlessly up and down the field the whole game?

I'll say this...we have very talented players, but as a team in general we are probably mediocre-talented. This is where the coaching comes into play IMHO.

I think it's a physical vs mental thing. When you watch this team when playing well, it's pretty exciting stuff. But, having the mental toughness to execute consistently, well, it hasn't materialized yet and I'm not sure when or if it will.

The problem is all of our holes are concentrated to certain sections. And if that's the case, no matter how much talent you have, those sections can be exposed. Teams need to have talent evenly distributed.

SS, FS, ILB, ILB....oh dear god, teams are having a field day down the middle between the backers and the safeties. Safeties aren't covering people deep, corners are being left on an island. ILB are struggling in coverage.

RG...RT...a whole side of an offensive line. Line your best DE and DT tackle there and blitz that side. Teams can have a field day (titans...vikings...)

If we put in Holland longterm and he performs our Oline can stand up.

But we need a free safety. We're a free safety away from an elite D.
