Wilcox and Heath started rotating at S after Wilcox bad miss on Lynch run.
How many safeties in the league are going to tackle Marshawn in the open field on a play like that? Good grief.

I've tried to be patient with Heath given that he's a young guy and probably never should have been on the field last year anyways, but he is absolutely terrible. He couldn't have done anything more wrong on the Wilson TD.

According to Broaddus, the defensive coaches do NOT share your viewpoint on Heath. Heath isn't
going anywhere and will continue to push Wilcox when he whiffs on tackles.

Actually both the OP's narrative and what happens in the game would say this is wrong. Broaddus said that's what he thought but upon watching game footage that didn't appear to be the truth. And that's what I saw as well. Heath was in there by the second series for Wilcox before he even whiffed on the tackle. They do like Heath and have been rotating him in but it's not because Wilcox is being punished.

I've seen Earl Thomas and Jarius Byrd whiff on several tackles in games against us so I don't get how people act like it's a calamity when Wilcox does miss. And I don't really blame him for that play because Hayden was so bad on it that the hole that opened up was much different from the one Wilcox had to have envisioned when he was attacking the play initially.

They've revamped the website at Cowboys.com (under multimedia). I like it.

I could be wrong but I thought they said McClain, Crawford, and Hayden were the good combination in the middle.

My one HUGE caution about how the defense played Sunday is don't put too much stock into Dallas playing the Seattle passing game so great. I mean look at the list of WR's Seattle has. They don't exactly scare a person. Other than Harvin they don't have any real threats in the passing game.

i don't like how they punish Wilcox every time he makes a mistake. those two stud safeties in New Orleans made several mistakes versus us. It happens. Don't stunt his growth and confidence by bringing Heath in every time he screws up, especially when it's not due to a lack of effort. Heath is terrible.

I agree somewhat, but maybe there is a focus issue with the kid and once in awhile needs reminding. As long as they communicate with him properly it should make him a better player. He is the future at the position not Heath.

I too was hoping for Donald first then Martin but I'm glad we got Martin. I did not want Shazier to become a Cowboy.

I sound like a broken record but if a talented RT falls to Dallas in draft next year I would like for Jerry to make that pick. Continue to build the trenches.

I agree. And I wouldn't be opposed to a guard either. Not too early mind you, but I wouldn't stop adding to an already great unit.

Dallas started the game playing zone, and switched it up and went man in the 2nd half. Didnt struggle with the zone.

Spencer played alot and controlled his side of the field. Coming along very well. Showing the speed and very active. Almost had a couple sacks.

Secondary had 9 passes defenced.

First half seattle had 86 yrds and 56 yrds came on a pick play

Theres a difference with McClain in the lineup and Crawford and Melton playing inside together.

Wilcox and Heath started rotating at S after Wilcox bad miss on Lynch run.

In the 4th on the 4th down seattle went to the same pick play they had early and Scandrick avoided the pick went under it. Mincey had pressure and forced Wilson to force it early.

Dallas went to the 22 look at the end of the game. 2 TE and FB set. Ran 3 times for 42 yrds

Need to continue to use Randle and Dunbar the way they did in the 1st. Game got close in the 2nd and team went with what they trust.

Free walking with boot

Dallas still going to the Landry shift in its victory formation

Travis Fredrick was huge vs Seattle

Talk about Martin having a probowl yr

Baileys 56 yrd wouldve been good from 61

SEA game extremely loud. On the punt block the press box shook for 5-6 sec

SEA crowd started leaving early, and started hearing Cowboy cheers on Murrays TD was loud cheering

Team limited McClains plays

On McClains INT from the snap he had eyes on Wilson the whole time. And he had that INT easy

Great post. Educational. Thank you.

There could be something to this

"Dallas still going to the Landry shift in its victory formation"

To do this to close out Super Bowl would awesome!

Tom Landry's honored! Super fantastic!

I understand they're the champs but if you think they won cause of their passing game you didn't pay much attention to them.

They won cause of dominate defense and big time running.

Their WR's are run of the mill and they don't scare anyone. It's not like shutting down Peyton's receiving core or Atlanta's or Chicago's.

At this point the coaches have to pick their poison with these two guys. Wilcox has ability but he isn't always using the correct technique nor does he always know where he needs to be. Heath, on the other hand, knows where he needs to be but he can't get there quick enough. He also exhibits the correct technique but he lacks the overall ability to make the play consistently.

I agree with your assessment of Seattle WR and TE talent. If the team hadnt handled NO, I would be more skeptical.

So glad dallas didnt have a chance to take donald. He would be barried on the depth chart. Melton, Crawford, Coleman all would be above him IMO. donald still hasnt been able to replace Lankford for the Rams. Most og his playing time has come in blowout losses to the Vikings and Niners.

Its not that he missed the tackle but he got juked so bad its laughable. By somebody who runs in a straight line.

What? That happens all the time.

Should Church have been benched after he completely whiffed on Arian Foster?

Their WR's aren't highly rated they do however, catch some balls, but your point is well taken

There was at least 1 play with Heath and Wilcox in the game and Church was out. Church came in the very next play for Special Teams, so I don't think it was due to injury.

They also had 3 Safeties on the field for some snaps (Heath, Church and Wilcox).

We have three legit probowl lineman on this team. Problem is that none will play in the probowl because...

As a coach worth his salt, you do pull him. It's not a mini-demotion or a disciplinary tool.

It's a chance to get a hold of him and talk about the play and what he needs to recognize/do.

Wilcox wiffed on that play so bad it's not that he didn't recognize it, he probably didn't see it at all.

The seahags would've likely gone right back to it or some similar play.

The Hags saw Heath come in and figured that Dallas was all over it = Different play.

It's what I would do in that situation. Believe it or not they respond really well.

They understand they're just being coached up.

My two cents........
