What you needed was a coaching staff to prepare. Not just week to week preparation, but season long preparation. You guys have very good starters, but lack depth at some key positions.


I am not all that surprised that the Pats are finding ways to win. Without Brady, and now Maroney? That's a hell of an effort by that staff being prepared for the worst.

We dont really lack depth except for Quarterback and Safety.

I know your down as I am too. But I still have a little hope that things can turn around and it all starts this week against the Bucs.

If we had a healthy Terrence Newman, Tony Romo, and this team were to play with enthusiasm than i'd have no doubts Dallas would win rather easily.

But we dont so we are screwed.

I hear you but I think the Cowboys need to stay in the game with good ST's and defense so they don't have to put so much pressure on the offense too much.

I think if the Cowboys cut down on the stupid penalties and turnover I think they will win.

Problem is we can't do that cause we suck at special teams and defense.

Three nuns and a janitor could be active for the bucs, but you know what garcia will throw it all over the place and no one will have an answer for it and our safeties will never be to blame when the ball is thrown right at them and they make no play on the ball.

Anyone getting their hopes up over tampas injuries hasnt been paying attention. They dont have to pass, we cant stop the run which is the final nail in the coffin of any defense and when it happens over and over it is a sign of give up.

after they run on 1st and 2nd down it will be 3rd and short all game and you dont need superstars at wr to convert those, just a crafty vet qb and a disciplined offense.

Unfortunately I hope I am dead wrong.

but I think this season is over. I think their is something so inherintly wrong that it will take a full offseason and a fresh approach to fix this.

and please dont confuse that with Putting me in the I want wade fired crowd. I am not a big fan of wades and I dont like coaches with his style and although I think he plays a big role in this, I dont lay the blame on him.

The problem is the players. The defense needs to be completely revamped. And the problem is we need a Personnell man to come in and do that and we dont have one, we have GM Jerry Sunshine. KNowing jerry he will let spears, burnett and canty walk and give a ton of cash to julius peppers or something and make the team even weaker.

The fat needs to be trimmed on Defense and players need to be put on notice, but I dont see it happening. At best we will finish this season poorly, wade and the whole defensive staff will get cleaned out and JG will be the new coach. He will then put in his own defensive staff, maybe capers runs the D who knows?

and then we will have to listen to march-august talk of what a good defense we have and how the new coach is going to make it better.

I happen to think Parcells and Phillips are above average defensive coaches. In the end I think it will have been Parcells that got more out of this group on defense than phillips. But it doenst matter, I dont blame them for the defensive woes, its on the players.

When times are tough and the team needs a lift it should get it from the defense, the defense should be able to carry a team through tough times and help them get settled with other problems. What we see here is that the defense needs to be protected to be good, like the way parcells dictated the offense was run. All in keeping the defense off the field. INstead we lose the only guy who can keep this thing going forward, Tony Romo but the offense still continued to throw the ball all over and put the defense in bad spots with turnovers. This defense can only do so much and when they are asked to carry the load we lose 3 of 4 and get lucky not to have lost 4 in a row.

so back to the original post, Yes I think the season is over. Now it is just a reality show for the media to attack for 9 weeks. I think the worst is to come, this team hasnt been blown out at home with wade here and I think that is on the horizon and that is when the you know what hits the fan.

We are very very similar to the 1998 Kansas City Chiefs.

#1 we need a big 3-4 nose tackle
#2 we need to move Ratliff to DE
#3 Canty needs to go
#4 keep marcus but only for cheap since he couldn't even live up to his rookie contract.
#5 Spencer needs to start cause we need to find out if he's the guy opposite of DWare
#6 we need smarter and better middle linebackers.
#7 we need another vet corner to replace Henry
#8 Roy needs to go
#9 move Hamlin to SS and get a real FS.
#10 either move Tank to DE/backup DE or get rid of him.

yeah but Jerry is in charge. Imo I don't see us accomplishing anything until Jerry gets a GM(like that will ever happen) or is too old or dies.

Jerry will go quick fix or for the celebrity player every time. Which just leads to starting over again in two or three years.
