By what metric do you claim Winston as top 5? He's in the top 10 in one major statistical category in his career. Passing Tds this season (9th). His team's win loss record certainly isn't top 5 (although that's not a major factor in how I develop my rankings)

Arm motion. Ability to lead. Poise in the pocket. Natural born leader. Takes snaps under center. 3-5-7 step drop backs (release, in case you don't know the significance of dropping back) like a 33 year-old vet. Canon arm. Makes the hard throws. Looks off safeties. Ability to make intermediate and deep passes with defenders barreling down on him. Can, and DOES, step up in pocket in said scenario.

But you look at whatever stats you want while I watch the league, sir. Win/loss, lol, dude is leading them to a possible playoff berth w a rook head coach and after a 6-10 season last year (his phenomenal [going with stats] age-21 rookie season).

Edit -- I deleted my original response to you because, quite frankly, I don't want to have this discussion with someone that thinks he's "league-average". The description I have for a poster (and said poster's intellect) that would call him that would get me in trouble. I like my posting privileges.

Have a nice day, bro.

Yeah every metric available indicates he's league average.

Yes, QBR. I have been referring to Fox sports.

Eagles game (which I missed). So he's had 3 under 100 in qbr.

That's still passer rating. Whoever does that graphic at Fox Sports doesn't know the different between QB Rating (a stat created by ESPN) and passer rating (the NFL's official statistic). They are completely different.

11 days ago, Prescott faced the league's #3 pass defense in Minnesota. Last night against the Giants, he went up against the league's #2 pass defense, according to Defensive Passer Rating.

Next he's about to face a pass defense that leads the entire NFL in the second half of the season (games 9-13). Over their last 5 games, the Bucs are 5-0 and have allowed a passer rating of 62.5.

97 of 161 60.2% 999 yd 4 td 10 int 62.5

Sounds like a heavy dosage of Zeke is needed. And Dak needs to complete the short passes and run when needed. This will set up Tampa's small but fast D for misdirection and/or play action for a deep ball or 3. Garrett and Linehan really need to be patient with run game. Time for those dirty runs, AND ZEKE NEEDS TO BE FED.

Well, we went from having the easiest schedule to we're facing the hottest teams right now. I don't get it. We need to go on another run.. Now isn't the time to get battle-tested.

It blows my mind how we got away from the running game in the 2nd half after amassing 87 yards in the 1st half. We lead by 4 points for most of this game and only trailed by 3 in the 4th.

Oh, and Linehan's brilliant idea of putting Dunbar in every 3rd down to go out for a pass, like the Giants didn't immediately know that's exactly what he was coming in for. And stubbornly sticking with that in the 2nd half even as it continued to yield no results whatsoever.

That game plan for NY was all messed up. I'm hoping the COACHES learned from that abysmal offensive performance and get back to what works. Having Zeke in the game for 3rd downs and keep running the ball.

Linehan and Garrett stubbornly insisted on sticking with a passing game plan that was struggling last Sunday night. Now, it was on the road in the cold. This next game is at home in Dallas. I expect to see a better passing game this next time out.

Those calling for Romo already have to understand, we'd have to lose this Bucs game and lose it BADLY for any kind of switch to be made for the Lions & Eagles. We've lost 2 games by a combined 4 points. I think this team can handle the Bucs and the Lions and make the Eagles game meaningless.

Dak is very likely to struggle again this week and the rest of the way.

These teams are all fighting for playoff lives.

He's a rookie struggling, as would be expected.
yeah tampa is desperate to win and playing good, detroit is desperate to win also.
Eagles, just dont like us lol and may want revenge for the last game.

So 3 tough games, but I think tampa is the toughest game.

I think this is where coaching and game planning, come into play and our coaches havent been great at that, or adjusting during games.

I want to see dak run the ball, but not on the stupid read option, just drop back and look for a lane to run through.
I doubt we see that though.

They need to get back to what they did before to make the long drives, the short passes, and not try to force it to dez.
Run the ball more, keep pounding and wear them down.

People keep saying run the ball. Why would you want to run the ball when you can't sustain drives with it and the other teams is loading the box, run blitzing, sending a trailer to follow Zeke into the hole from the offside, etc?

If a team is taking the run away by selling out then you make them pay with the pass. The question is why aren't we doing that?
