Not to toot my own horn, but I've been saying for a damn month to watch out for this team, when many members here scoffed.

Equally disturbing, the dismissive attitude towards Jameis @gmoney112 (crazy, ain't it, bro)

All of a sudden, with a loss after 11 weeks, now, these guys are a threat. GTHO. These dudes (the Bucs) are incredibly legit.

As a matter of fact, I've been on their bandwagon since preseason, and already consider Jameis a top-5 QB. He is so young, too. A prodigy. A true phenom.

Bucs are the future of the NFC (along with ourselves, and possibly the Eagles).
Top 5? Nah.

In my view Tampa has looked impressive as of late. This is going to be a tough challenge for the Cowboys.

Only cuz of Carson's potential, Irv. And a solid defensive foundation. It sucks for me to say, as much for you to read. Believe me, my dude... not happy to admit it, at all :)
Wentz I is just potential right now. He has to fulfill that potential which we haven't seen. It's possible he becomes the greatest ever but it's also possible he continues to struggle.....
By the way I get what you're saying but I can't put the Eagles in that conversation yet until they prove otherwise, that's just me though

Not possible he becomes the greatest ever, everything else I agree with, 88 :)

Was just saying. I don't think Wentz amounts to much ever in the pros. I have been wrong before and will be so again......I have also been right before and will do so again. My point is Wentz might be full of potential but that doesn't mean he reaches it. It's just as possible Wentz bust as it is he becomes decent

We shall see, Irv. I think the kid is gonna be a good one, and the team is a young team on the up and up. But, boy, do I hope you are right!!!! :)

Side note, 88, I wouldn't trade Dak for any QB in the league (save maybe for Winston). Not Carr, Wentz, Rodgers, Luck...

The Bucs have looked good, they've won 5 straight and they're tied at the top of their division with Atlanta. They're going to need this game and we damn sure better be ready to play. If our passing game/Dak continues to struggle this season may end up being a repeat of the 2007 season.

I agree Cowboys and Dak need to step things up. For whatever reason I think he can and will.

Our OL in pass blocking is a major reason our passing game has struggled last 2 weeks. Zeke had no holes to run (vs Giants) too. OL has been in a funk (not just Dak).

We seem to be on the same page on almost everything. I agree with you on Dak. Wentz might turn into a good QB but we don't know. He needs developing something bad and he refuses to admit what his problems are that needs fixing. Eagles has some holes they need to fix but worth keeping an eye on

Don't really agree with that. Our pass protection wasn't great last week but the main issues that have hurt the passing game has been the pre snap penalties false starts/holding calls that have put us in some long 3rd down situations. Not having manageable 3rd downs allows the defense to pin their ears back and come after Dak. We've had a number of long down situations plus our receivers have had trouble getting open in those situations. Beasley who's been our leading receiver this season has only had 11 catches the past 3 games for 120 yards. The first 3 games of the season he had 20 catches for 213 yards. The last three games have been his least productive all season and he's been our #1 chain mover this season especially on 3rd down.

His lack of production the past few weeks is another reason we've been so poor on 3rd down the past couple of games. We have to reduce the offensive penalties or we're going to continue being behind the chains and this passing funk we're in will continue. Much easier to covert 3rd and 3's and 5's and get receivers like Beasley and Witten open rather than having to pick up 9 to 14 yards to move the chains. Witten is another receiver who's numbers have come down the past three games.

He's only had 7 catches the past three games and the only catch he had against Minn was called back due to a penalty. We had many more manageable 3rd down situations earlier in the season and lately we're putting ourselves too far behind the chains. I've lost track of how many 3rd and 9's and 15's we've had lately. Not having a burner/deep threat outside to stretch the field is another issue with the offense. Someone with great speed would help open up more underneath routes and help create more big plays in the passing game.

Agreed.

And as bad as Dak was against the Giants, Dez was worse. Maybe the worst game he's played since he arrived.

Well there's a hell of a lot of insight in that post, windward. Who's your top 5?
Without any specific order, I have Brady, Ben, Dalton,Luck, Mariota, Carr, Dak, Cousins, Rodgers, Stafford, Ryan, Brees, Newton, Wilson ahead of him.

He's league average.

I agree last week was Dez's career worst game. He had one catch for 10 yards and the bad plays, the fumble on a critical 3rd down and the screwed up routes that resulted in Dak's picks made the game he had dreadful to say the least.

Another issue last week was Dak was holding onto the ball too long and this was due to being in long down situations and our receivers not getting open. Dez was being shutdown and Beasley and Witten are more intermediate route runners. Dak completed passes to Witten and Twill that came up just short of the first down on a couple of 3rd down plays because we were in long down situations. We had one 3rd down that we needed over 20 yards, deep in Giants territory and just handed it to Zeke. We have to stop putting ourselves so far behind the chains.

Lol. Okay, Dalton, Newton, Cousins, Stafford, Ryan, (NFL) fan card revoked. Like, competely revoked.

Mariota and Luck, nope, but I'll give you them.

Still, say buh-bye to your fan card. Wave.

"He's league-average" -- dang, (NFL) fan card torn to shreds.

Stick to the Boys, hombre.

Edit -- does it really say "NFL Historian" under your avatar?

LOL
By what metric do you claim Winston as top 5? He's in the top 10 in one major statistical category in his career. Passing Tds this season (9th). His team's win loss record certainly isn't top 5 (although that's not a major factor in how I develop my rankings)
