Tank Johnson is eligible to begin the process of asking for reinstatement to the league this week.
Johnson was suspended for eight games, but commissioner Roger Goodell left open the possibility of reducing the penalty to six when he handed out it in June. A reduction seems unlikely, but would make Johnson eligible to return on October 21.

I doubt he gets it...as long as he comes in here in top shape he will be fine. IMO he's here for a deep playoff push, so let the big boy rest for now. lol

Goodell owes us one, so he should allow this to happen.....consequently "the one" that he owes us should be returning after this game.......

I agree, but does not mean it will happen.

Why is it unlikely? Whe would Roger Goodell leave open the possibility of reducing the penalty to six when he handed it out?

Hrmm?

All of the reports I read say that Tank has done everything and beyond what Goodell wanted him to do when Roger showed him the door.

He has been the model probationee.

It would not surprise me to see Tank back in 6.

I feel he owes us one too, but I doubt he feels that way at all.

Agree. I think some of this is the media wishing he doesn't come back in 6 weeks. That's ok we will hold the fort until then.

Uh, yeah

Did you hear about his arrest in Arizona?

You'll see him in eight. Not six.

You mean the one where all charges were dropped because he broke no laws?

Regardless, it doesn't look good.

I'll say eight. And I will still be here when his appeal is denied...

I don't believe any charges were filed. I don't know what will happen but I don't think anything came of the Arizona thing.

I doubt it will be reduced either, but not because of what happened here in AZ. I just think Goodell is making a statement and to lessen the penalty would look weak to him.

To each their own.

I think it will be denied; you don't. Hostile doesn't.. others think it will be denied.

We'll see. I'd <like> for it to be six.. but I just don't see it happening.

Well, I think Goodell is going to make a statement, too. I think Tank would have had a slight chance, had he not been arrested. I know the "charges were dropped" or "never filed" - but it still looks bad.. but with the arrest - I think Goodell is just going to stamp that big fat red REJECTED stamp. If he has one, that is.

I agree with you. I think the chances are really good that he will reduce it. If so he will possibly be back for the Vikings game. But if not he will be eligible for the Eagles game.

I don't want to tell Tank how to frame up his appeal, but something like this might work:

Rehabilitated?
Well now, let's see.
You know, I don't have any idea what that word means.
I know what you think it means, sonny.
To me it's just a made-up word. Like "Nors" or "impaired to the slightest degree"...
A politician's word; so, young fellows like yourself can wear a suit and a tie... and have a job
What do you really want to know?
Am I sorry for what I did?
There's not a day goes by I don't feel regret. Not because I'm suspended and because you think I should.
I look back on the way I was in April... a stupid, young kid who committed that terrible crime (even though, technically, I didn't commit a crime in Arizona).
I want to talk to him.
I want to try and talk some sense to him.
Tell him the way things are, but I can't.
That kid's long gone, and this fat man is all that's left.
I gotta live with that.
Rehabilitated?
It's just a BS word.
So you go on and stamp your form, sonny, and stop wasting my time. Because to tell you the truth, I don't give a isht...

I thought he was suspended AFTER the arizona arrest. Is that incorrect?

Even Goodell said he's opened to the possiblity of reducing, I know I read that on this board even. We'll see.
