Tapper has pars defect

So. It was undetected since childhood. Our docs missed it. What does this mean now? Can he or can he not play?

@Risen Star, dude just flaunt to the ladies how many likes you have. Like walk up to a lady and be like, "hey baby I got 3400 likes, what are we going to do about it".

Actually, I could see disco @Risen Star say something like ..
"Hey baby, I got 34,000 likes, but it only takes one to get to my center."

And I could see grumpy @Risen Star say something like ..
"I got 34,000 likes, but you're not one of them!"

Makes me wonder if he will see the field this year. It would be interesting to hear how far along the healing process is.

Wow.. I feel bad for him and hope he gets better. But what bad luck we have.

I think any of them could work, we're giving him a lot of options to work with.

The recommended treatment program for active spondylolysis is usually a combination of the following:

  • Bracing to immobilize the spine for a short period (e.g. four months) to allow the pars defect to heal
  • Pain medications and/or anti-inflammatory medication, as needed
  • Stretching, beginning with gentle hamstring stretching and progressing with additional stretches over time
  • Exercise that is controlled and builds gradually over time.
That sounds promising. Retirement would be less painful.

It's not good, but it's certainly manageable. I don't anticipate Tapper playing anytime soon though. Hopefully there's not a spondylolisthesis, where an anterior slippage of the vertebral body occurs, which leads to instability and neurological symptoms. Assuming it's only spondylosis and not spondylolisthesis, they'll brace him in order to avoid extension movements (opposite of Romo), have him do stabilization exercises, and activity modification. However, with the amount of repetitive strain that's required for his line of work, this will most likely be a career and lifelong condition.

His status has not changed. All he did was explain to the media what his injury was.

From the DMN -- "Tapper still isn't practicing with the team. He said he's hopefully he can get back next week. Tapper said he's back running and cutting now. He said he still needs to get back into shape."

Did any team doctor find this? If not, kind of a reach to rip ours, IMO. However, not good news.

Why do I get the feeling the Cowboys got the wool pulled over their eyes on draft day?

I'm not buying that Tapper didn't know of this condition.

So we have an injured Romo who may not play until week 8-9.

Tapper and McFadden may not play all season ... Yet, Garrett says the roster is set and they are happy???

All you can do is laugh at this crap.
Garrett has little choice..

there are no magic pills for us right now..

DAK and Marinelli and Linehan are the keys to our season..

if the coaching staff responds like last year about the injuries and suspensions..

we are done before we start.

Our coaches must take control and do their jobs..

Hope he had his back brace on when he watched his team play Houston Saturday. Bwhahahahahahahahahaha.
