Gregory was fine against the run. Definitely much better than he's getting credit for. People are still holding his size against him without actually looking at tape. I don't think he'll be a full time starter either, but it won't be because he's not good versus the run.

Love the tapper pick, my second favorite pick. Wish we had also gotten striker and shepherd. Saw a ton of tapper and he's not elite rusher but he is a grinder who made a lot of plays and always played his butt off.

But having the trait only means that there is a greater chance that the off spring will have full sickle cell anemia if one carrier mates with another. Carriers of the trait do not experience the pain and symptoms as those who have full sickle cell anemia and are also not threatened by a shorter life span.

Correct. My wife and my youngest son have the trait. It isn't as serious as a person who has sickle cell. But you have to monitor it depending on the person. My son just needs to make sure he stays hydrated, but God blessed him with a love for water (he's autistic also, though high-functioning). I think the Steeler player who couldn't play in Denver (can't remember his name) had sickle cell and not just the trait.

I think Tapper has a decent chance to start this year and may be a long term starter.

If DLaw's suspension holds out, I think Irving, Russell and maybe British Crawford compete to start at LDE for the first four games. I think Irving wins, but DLaw gets the spot back when he returns, with Irving being a nice backup and Russell gets cut.

At RDE I see Tapper competing with Mayowa. I think Mayowa might get the nod because of experience, but I think Tapper has more upside and is stronger against the run. The draft reviews say he "has the Sickle Cell trait" which means he has never had an attack or you would have heard about it. His cells may be fine, we don't really know. Saying he "has the trait" probably just means he has the genetic markers.

But at this point its unlikely to develop into a problem during his playing career, even though I could see them keeping him out of high altitudes where lower oxygen is an issue. Also they are making advances, its an absolutely horrible disease but one company has already done Phase III trials that show L-glutamine will dramatically lessen the attacks.
