Tapper will beat out Taco

There types of threads are good for figuring out what players are not liked by a person.

In short, Tapper's play has zero bearing on what happens with Charlton. If Tapper manages to stay healthy or play well then he pushes off the guy at the bottom of the depth chart ie Ealy or Neal.

And calling Taco soft is a poor nickname. Taco wrecks Tappers performance having actually finished a season and improving markedly over the course of it. If Taco continues to get stronger --and reports are he is already well on his way-- and builds on the handwork he started to catch on with then he could end up where DLaw was faster assuming he stays healthy. He has the size to play the position sturdily.

Time will tell. Taco was pretty soft and soggy last year. They tried to give Taco a spot but he never really claimed it. He got snaps by default.

Tapper may never amount to anything because of health issues. We will see. But he has a lot more talent than Taco. I think it may be possible that Tapper could outplay Taco in a walker. Maybe even from a hospital bed. The only reason it hasn't happened so far was to keep from embarrassing the soggy Taco!

D.Law, Taco, Ealy........strike me as Left side DE's

R.Gregory and Tapper R-DE's..............can any and all flip flop sure but.......

I don't think that Rod buys the LDE/RDE thing like we bandy around here. I think he is more than happy to play any of Crawrford, DLaw, Irving or Taco weakside particularly in the base.

He said last year he liked T Crawford at RE because of his power.

best case scenario, they both become outstanding players. doubtful tapper will make it due to injuries. taco showed some promise late last year. I expect more from him this year.

He was panned by the coaches from the beginning to be somewhat raw; he was. They didn't try to hand him anything. DLaw and Crawford were healthy all year. When Irving was hurt or suspended Taco played his same rotation role.

Tapper when healthy has better speed and quickness but Taco is much bigger and stronger with a similar size to speed ratio. Those 20 lbs make a big difference. Tapper doesn't have the ability to sharpen the corner and disengage that Taco was showing at the end of the year.

I wouldn't mind that..Tapper has better skills..Except that old availability issue..Hope he changes that..

I hear you verdict..How about the best edge speed out of all the Dlineman..Tapper could be a nice side to a speed package, I havent seen enough to rate bend..Last year i was hoping maybe him and Benson team up for that..Maybe Dlaw and Him on a rotation..

Just a thought..Im not giving up on Taco either..He was/is a project..and I didnt expect anything out of him last year..

Taco may end up being a good player, but I don't see speed as being his biggest asset. If he doesn't win with power I doubt if he will be very successful.

I'm not against Taco as a project so much as I am against taking a project in the first round. If it takes 4 years for him to develop we get one good year and then have to pay him a monster salary.

If that happens you really are behind the 8 ball because you end up in a "Dez" situation. If he doesn't play like a bat out of hell every game he isn't worth that second contract.

I would have been all about Taco as a third round choice. That's about what he played like last year. Didn't flash at all early. (Sucked in fact) and then gave a bit of flash once or twice at seasons end.

If his game was speed he would have had more success early. He just wasn't strong enough to be a factor last year. Raw is an understatement.

The health deal on the back strange thing..

True..He can play the run a bit..One Thing i remember them saying and what I noticed last year was he takes coaching and will get better with work.. Let the boy drop em..Then we see if his presentation gets better!

He should be stout against the run.

Tapper has been my pet cat since the draft and he was misplaced in that stupid frog position at OU.

He's not going to beat out Taco though. Ain't happenin

Lol..I hate to waste a pick..And Tappers speed is what i liked plus his original size..He dropped down to 265 Last year, before that other issue showed up..I think the availability may have already wasted Tappers chances..We see..
