Broadus seems to think this guy is guaranteed to be a Cowboy if we don't trade for Earl Thomas.

He could even be our pick at 50.

I can't find a lot of video on him but I found this one.

picking him at 50 is a reach i feel. i wouldn't mind using our comp 4th and 3rd to move up in the 3rd to get him.

NFL.com has him ranked at 51 so that would be right in our second round range. I wish there was a way to come away with a quality G/C, WR, LB, 1T DT, and safety in this draft. And for good measure pick of a COP third down RB later in the draft like Ito Smith or Akrum Wadley.

Yeah we can go ahead and wrap this one up.

Broaddus and Bruglar are all over him. Usually when they talk a lot about a guy it indicates interest

Overview
Possesses rare speed, length and explosiveness at the safety position, but his tape says he's not just a workout wonder. Moore is a premium athlete with smooth hips and fluid feet with the ability to handle man cover matchups that others could struggle with. While there is still work to do, he's not a raw prospect and should be game-ready fairly quickly. Moore's tape shows his ability to handle coverage and run support duties and his elite athletic traits will likely push him way up the draft board into Day 2.

Strengths
  • Superior combination of size, speed and explosiveness
  • Ran verified 4.32-second 40-yard dash twice at his pro day with a 38.5-inch vertical leap and 11-foot-1 broad jump
  • Arms dangle down his side at over 33 inches
  • Asked to line up over slot and handle man cover duties
  • Operates with smooth backpedal and loose hips to match route breaks
  • Clocked speed shows up on tape with easy burst to close or to recover
  • Turns to find and close targets quickly after recognizing play-action
  • Has ability to handle combination safety role
  • Impressive ball production in limited time at USM
  • Able to blaze down the alley and catch running backs before they turn the corner
  • Willing hitter.
Weaknesses
  • Has just one season as full-time starter at FBS school
  • Despite interceptions, hands appear to be just average
  • Allows deep throws near his frame rather than high-pointing to finish
  • Has a tendency to sit and wait for stalk blockers rather than racing under when possible
  • Needs to add more muscle and mass to his frame
  • Too much head ducking into contact as a tackler
  • Needs to punch and play off of blocks in space for better tackle readiness.

"Pretty hard to believe the Combine missed on him. He's got the athletic ability and he was productive this year. We thought he would get invited." -- NFC Scouting Director

Would love him in the third but he may not make it that far. I’d feel better with him at 50 if we had already moved down in the first to add another pick in the third

Love this dude, surprised he's not getting more hype.

If we want him, I think we'd have to use our 2nd on him.

Brugler has him listed as a 4th rounder so it will be interesting to see where he really goes.

I wholeheartedly agree with the desire to come away from this draft with G/C, WR, LB, 1T and S. I just bought Brugler's guide so I am reviewing it to see how realistic that would be given our picks.

His rankings are all over the place. I've seen some have him in the 3rd and I saw one that had him like 40th overall prospect. And someone pointed out one of the NFL lists has him at 51.

I'll be honest.......... he reminds me of Jones. Great combine type numbers, pure athleticism, suspect hands, not the best tackler.

I like him but 50? I just don't know.

I see a lot of Byron Jones in him, but he seems like a much more natural football player than BJ ever has. He certainly has the size and athleticism to match up in man on TEs and bigger receivers similar to Jones. I just don't see the spatial awareness in zone coverage. That's what this defense is missing - a true ball hawking single high safety with instincts.

I see Moore fitting the Jones mold as an on the line man safety, albeit with a better feel for football. He's also more of a hitter than a tackler, though he is willing to be physical. His measurables are great and his tape isn't bad, but he doesn't seem to have the natural spatial awareness and instincts I prefer in a FS. I have a 4th round grade on him.

Here's a not so flattering game of his. Mind you, he had a lot of production against the run, just tallied up a lot of negative plays.

I wish there was more tape so I could get a better feel on the guy.

This is the only tape I've seen of him, and it's just pure trash. He gives up two TDs where he never even sees the receivers coming.

Definitely not worth a 2nd. Shouldn't reach for projects. Taking him as BPA on your board in the 4th would be value, 2nd.. not so much. Huge risk.

I believe his slot is within the top 100, probably an early day 3 prospect.

Just curious why you think he's a project? Dude put up NFL athleticism numbers at his pro day and had 80+ tackles, 10 passes defended and caused 4 turnovers last year.

He'll be there past 50. Has too little experience for teams to reach for him in the second round....

I trust the Cowboys ability to draft. I do not trust Broaddus' insider information nor evaluation of perimeter skill players.
Wasn't Broaddus going around spewing that nonsense that Rod was going to tampa it was 100 percent happening like a week before Rod signed a 3 year extension here? I don't think he has any reliable sources lol
