Maybe a better zone feel, but much worse in coverage than Byron. Which most every player is, so not much of a knock.I see a lot of Byron Jones in him, but he seems like a much more natural football player than BJ ever has. He certainly has the size and athleticism to match up in man on TEs and bigger receivers similar to Jones. I just don't see the spatial awareness in zone coverage. That's what this defense is missing - a true ball hawking single high safety with instincts.
I see Moore fitting the Jones mold as an on the line man safety, albeit with a better feel for football. He's also more of a hitter than a tackler, though he is willing to be physical. His measurables are great and his tape isn't bad, but he doesn't seem to have the natural spatial awareness and instincts I prefer in a FS. I have a 4th round grade on him.
His feel for the game was not on display in the FSU game, thats for sure.
