So we are going to go with two rookie RBs until Felix comes back? Do we have a RB on the PS?

I'm guessing part of the reason the Cowboys cut Choice was that they couldn't trust him to hold on to the ball either.

...it was they couldn't put up with it any longer in light of Carter's availability.

Looks like they just wanted to turn the page and move on.

There's a lot we are missing here. We can base our opinions on what we have seen on the field, but I would love to be a fly on the wall when the "powers that be" (coaches and GM) held the discussion on Choice vs Carter.

If you remember right. Felix got hurt right before the trade deadline and we didn't really know for sure what we had in DeMarco and Tanner so we couldn't, in good conscience, trade choice away. That's why he wasn't traded. Once we knew for sure that Murray could play (see 253 yards) then choice became expendable. It would have been nice to get the draft pick but we just didn't know.

Could've waited two days so TC could get another autograph....:)

Seriously, I always liked TC and wish it would've worked out for him here.
Good luck with whoever picks him up.

Exactly right.

Oh, to have a real GM.

Holley, Choice, Beuhler... No matter which, he wouldn't have made everyone happy... But imho, this has Garrett written all over it, and I like it.

Are they trying to get Beuhler to play a different position? A dime back maybe?

Don't know, does seem strange to still have him on the roster though.

You mean Richie Whitt was wrong and dozens of posters fretted over nothing?

Say it isn't so.

Shhh. That never happened.

You're probably right.

It must be therapeutic to assume every news report has merit. I don't need therapy, so I don't know this.

True, but it's not even necessarily Choice vs. Carter. It's Choice vs. Daniel Loper. Or David Buehler. Or Jesse Holley.

Which makes it even more of a travesty that we didn't pull the trigger at the trade-deadline for TC. We are like the anti-Patriots when it comes to getting value for our unwanted players. Wow.
We waited too long to deal him and his value went down. Further, I believe he was going to be a free agent after this year, so teams wouldn't give up anything for him, they would simply wait.

I guess our only hope would have been to deal him to a team in real need of a RB before the trade deadline but it looks like no one wanted him. Who can blame them. We were barely using Choice and he hasn't exactly been stellar for us recently.

Not that I care that Choice has been cut (has anyone who has done so little ever been so pumped up?), but does Beuhler have incriminating photos of the Jones family?

Bailey is 17 of 18 and has done a decent job on kickoffs.

Not sure why Beuhler continues to stay.

We knew exactly what we had in Choice. That was plenty reason to trade him if some team wanted him and go with the rookies.

I doubt the Cowboys were offered anything for him. Would you have?

They tried to showcase him during the Pats game and guess what, he fumbled. Not sure how much trade value he had......certainly not enough to dog the organization.

I think it's the right move, it's too easy to criticize after the fact. And, not everyone's trash is someone else's treasure.

Best of luck to Choice - hoping he gets his chance somewhere else where there's room for him.

Bailey actually has been pretty bad on kickoffs. His only game outside was New England and last week at home he was still bad. Sunday is in bad weather in Philly, a game that screams Buehler.

There were reports we fielded several calls for Choice prior to the trade deadline. They probably weren't offering much, but more than 0. Wasn't choice hurt? Do we owe him an injury settlement now?

Yea Cowboy fans chose to not believe things in the media that are negative about the Cowboys but soon as you hear trade rumors you believe them. I seriously doubt we were offered anything for Choice. And if it was it was probably a 7th round pick. You can get a 7th round pick if you really want an additional one that bad.

Cutting Choice does more for this team than trading him. It shows players that if you don't produce to the level of expectations you too may be out the door.

He has not been good on kick-offs. He's been inconsistent at home and just wait until he hits the east coast trip. Its going to be even worse. I just hope our special teams is on point.
