Another brilliant move by JJ....not trading him to get a late round draft pick. So they wait and cut him instead....

IF there was a chance to trade him...could be just Jerry speak.

I just want to say thanks to all the great dallas cowboy fans. My time in Dallas has come to an end and the best is yet come. God bless.

It takes two to tango.

Furthermore, consider these things.

1. Before the deadline, we only hoped we had a capable runner in Murray.
2. Choice is a FA after this year, teams wouldn't pay much for him.
3. This also means that only teams in dire need of a RB would pay anything for him.
4. Whatever they offered must not have been worth the risk of not knowing what you had in Murray, with an injured Felix.

And I'd say Murray more or less proved he could take a load and produce against the Rams, something that was an uncertainty before the deadline. Tanner got mixed in a bit, too.

Prior to them, who did we have who knew what they were doing? Felix and Choice, that's also two RB's. Once Felix is back I think we'll be okay with Felix/Murray/Tanner.

I agree, but I still think you have to cut a kicker that can't make field goals with any consistency when you have another one that can, before you kick a running back that can at least pick up a blitz. Cut the kicker and take whatever you can get for Choice, or keep him for insurance. That would have been the right move.

We should accept every trade offer so that fans are happy.

When the alternative is releasing the player a month later, I agree.

There were reports we fielded several calls for Choice prior to the trade deadline. They probably weren't offering much, but more than 0. Wasn't choice hurt? Do we owe him an injury settlement now?

I seriously doubt that there was an offer of any kind. Choice just didn't have any value. At this point, it's no loss.

Now keeping Buehler around makes less sense. A weapon is only a weapon if it's healthy enough to be used. At this point, it's a total waste of a roster spot.

You don't even know if there were trade offers or what they were. What if the offer was a player and they wanted us to trade Choice and one of our future picks? The trade offer might not have been one we thought improved us compared to keeping Choice.

I can't exactly explain their love affair with Buehler given how Bailey has performed so far. What I can say, is that I think JG may of been wanting to get rid of TC for a while now and finally was able to do it.

But how much can we fault Buehler? Sure he doesn't seem to be the answer at FG's, but this team has shown it was willing to carry two kickers, one for blasting the ball on kickoffs and one for FG's. I do think that Buehler won't be around next year.

Of course you don't. Because the Cowboys didn't do it.

If they did, you'd agree.

Common sense tells you if you're gonna release him now, you should have taken anything for him a few weeks ago. That's where having a real GM comes in.

But you also have to consider the timeline here. Do you think if Miles weren't to have a break out game against the Chiefs we would have gotten rid of RW? Sometimes you have to have players step up and prove they can do what your veterans were doing before you let go of another player.

I must say it would've been nice to get something for him, but circumstances change. 3 months ago people would've given their left nut for CJ2, and now?

Common sense tell you if you don't know what the offer was or if there even was a real one, you have know idea if it should have been taken. If there was a good one, of course we should have taken it. Unless someone can prove what was seriously offered and that JJ alone chose to turn it down, comments like we need a real GM are just empty whining.

Happens to other teams too. Never lament for them either.

There are cap implications with trades. Sometimes it is simply better to cut the umbilical cord. I wanted Choice gone the second he went out of bounds and saved Washington a timeout.

The recent fumbling only made it worse. This move doesn't bother me, and some reported trade that we turned down isn't going to wad my panties up.

But by all means, let yours get wadded up so you feel better about the taste in your mouth. I never liked bile personally.
