My father-in-law is a die hard Trojans fan. I watch a lot of USC football because of him. He watches even more then I do. Last year, when I was talking to him about Mays, he said that the team who took him would cut him in 3 years time. That was during his Jr. year, which to me, was better then his Sr. year. He said that the guy is always showing up on film clips but if you watch him, you'll see that he misses way too often. Said that all he wants is to make the big hit and that he never makes plays on the ball. Based on that, I watched him more closely and he's right. The guy just does not make any plays. It's incredible because you would think that with that kind of ability, he should at least have a certain percentage of plays just kind of fall into his game but it just doesn't happen all that much. I don't know. His physical ability is undeniable but his production and really his attitude are just not conducive to being an impact player. He is going to have to really work hard in the Pros to change this. If his agility numbers are good, lateral movement and acceleration, then I think he's got a much better chance because that would mean that it is all about coaching and attitude. If not, then I don't know. I don't see him as a 1st round talent but that's just me.
Later in the draft, perhaps he's a good pick.
