Mays just ran a 4.24 at the combine for those whho said he was slow as Roy Williams, anybody now interested...mayock just said he has had one of the best combines for a safety...43 inch vertical
Whew! Hope that performance clinches him going to the Texans who also need a FS in the worst way! Gives us an even better shot at Earl Thomas...

Roy Williams= made plays
Taylor Mays= never makes plays

I dont care how fast he ran.

second that.

If he falls to the 4th round, I'll give him a shot.

Half the fan base already hates him, lol.

I hope the Cowboys don't draft him because it's going to be Bobby Carpenter all over again.

He can't win even if he plays well unless he puts up 10 INT's as a rookie.

I know one thing about Taylor Mays and it's the only thing really about all the players coming into the draft.

They have potential.

How they are used and coached will have a lot of say in how good they will become as NFL players.

True but it would be nice had played better his sr. year. For people who have watched him play it is hard to feel great about the prospect of getting him. I have nothing against Mays and would give him the chance if we select him. As far as picks go I think he is a risk, allot of great measurable but questionable play not a great sign when in the 1st you expect players who have put up a great season

My father-in-law is a die hard Trojans fan. I watch a lot of USC football because of him. He watches even more then I do. Last year, when I was talking to him about Mays, he said that the team who took him would cut him in 3 years time. That was during his Jr. year, which to me, was better then his Sr. year. He said that the guy is always showing up on film clips but if you watch him, you'll see that he misses way too often. Said that all he wants is to make the big hit and that he never makes plays on the ball. Based on that, I watched him more closely and he's right. The guy just does not make any plays. It's incredible because you would think that with that kind of ability, he should at least have a certain percentage of plays just kind of fall into his game but it just doesn't happen all that much. I don't know. His physical ability is undeniable but his production and really his attitude are just not conducive to being an impact player. He is going to have to really work hard in the Pros to change this. If his agility numbers are good, lateral movement and acceleration, then I think he's got a much better chance because that would mean that it is all about coaching and attitude. If not, then I don't know. I don't see him as a 1st round talent but that's just me.

Later in the draft, perhaps he's a good pick.

I agree with you, thing is he is not doing it on the college level and it does not get easier in the NFL.
