Nope, I'm not a TCU Alum. I did grow up not to far from TCU campus though. That is why I'm a TCU fan. Almost every single person in my family are UT Austin alum. :)

Did Dell send it or did you manually add Froyo? I heard that 2.3 is about to be released. I keep getting updates from Google, but after I install them, they aren't 2.3. :/

How are they greedy? Because they are independent and have their own network contract? I assume that means you now hate Texas as well. In fact, I'd say what Texas did is worse. They demanded having their cake and eating too it by keeping the benefits of belonging to a conference while also demanding they be free to pursue their own TV deal.

No. It goes much deeper than that. For starters, go try to buy a Notre Dame helmet. :)

I manually installed 2.1 from 1.6. I then had to remove that rom and flash to a 00 baseband in order to install the new Dell 2.2 .pkg.

Dell is only pushing a 2.2 build to the 00 baseband models which most are not. Those 00 baseband models are unlocked phones and most are o2 models from Europe or beta phones.

Took about an hour but this 2.2 build is awesome, I have to say.

Back OT

TCU is moving to the Big East - Yay? Mmk! =)

Ohio State just talked garbage about Boise State and TCU and TCU's athletic director straight up challenged Ohio State. It was basically a put up or shut up. He said and I quote: "Anytime. Anyplace. Anywhere," he challenged. "Buckeyes against the Horned Frogs. Tee it up. Let's go."

Ohio State's response. Silence.

Wrong. Ohio State tried to schedule TCU in 2007 for a game in 2009 and TCU declined.

Why don't you get your facts straight before spewing off at the mouth.

:laugh2:

Yeah Ohio St is afraid of TCU...:laugh2:

Whatever.

By the way...Gordon Gee was right.

Sure they can beat any team on any given Saturday...but let them play in the Big Ten or SEC and no way in hell would they be going undefeated year after year.

Tell those wussies to step up now. They have been served with a challenge after talking smack, yet they stand as quiet as a mouse.

Ohio State is probably lucky they didn't play TCU that year. They may not have even gotten to the Rose Bowl.

Ohio State should jump all over it if they actually think TCU is a subpar team. They already got *****-slapped by Wisconsin who is ranked above them. Stamford (also ranked above them) would probably decimate them too. TCU is ranked over both Stamford and Wisconsin but is a subpar opponent in their eyes. It sounds like the perfect opponent for Ohio State! ;)

...of course, TCU probably wants a bigger fish than little ole Ohio State. You know, a National Championship quality opponent. :muttley:

Really? Sounds like you have Buckeyes hate-itis. I just pointed out that they tried to schedule TCU in 09. TCU would have about 3-4 losses in the Big 10 including Ohio State. It's one thing to win some one shot bowl game against a BCS school but to go through a schedule week in and out will take it's toll on a team like TCU.

...Yep

Dang Pep..

Scared of TCU....please.... The Big 12 scared of TCU?

Good lord...did you miss breakfast? :)

How else do you explain it? The Big 12 loses 2 schools and thereby loses the right to have a championship game under the current NCAAF configurations... there is a school at #3 in the current BCS standings, begging to get into a BCS conference, which happens to play some 20 miles from where said conference's headquarters sit.... and the Big 12 does nothing?

What is the reasoning?

I swear I'm starting to despise all of college football. I already despise the BCS. I despise these "political" coaches who care nothing about the sport, just about how to maximize their earnings from a corrupt system. All the school presidents from the BCS conferences can go take a flying leap off the south rim of the Grand Canyon. Gordon Golly Gee Willikers from Ohio State can go **** himself. Little Sisters of the Poor... yeah Indiana and Northwestern are such football powerhouses.

10 years ago, I thought it was only a matter of time before these morons gave in to what 90% of all fans of the sport want... a playoff system. Well here we are 10 years later, and nothing. They just sit in their ivory towers with their fingers in their ears and not listening to us. Well, until the 90 percent-ers start talking with their pocketbooks, they're not going to do anything. ******bags.

It is about dollars. Adding TCU takes TV money out of the pockets of every Big 12 team because TCU would not be worth their share in the stakes. The Big 12 will be gone soon because they cannot add any teams that can increase their TV revenue.

Dallas,

Sweet. I know moving from 2.1 -> 2.2 was awesome upgrade. Going from 1.6->2.2 had to be like night and day! :laugh2:

OT

People keep saying, playing BCS teams mean something. I say it means very little except in the BCS rankings. For the most part there are better teams and thats all find and dandy. I'm not sure where people come up with the idea that a team can't handle playing several games in a row against BCS opponents. Thats utterly ridiculous and sounds more like someone thinks they are elite because they are BCS. It's football and football is a physical sport.

Anyone can win or lose on any Saturday. It has no effect on next weeks game unless there are injuries.

As for Ohio State being afraid. Yeah, I doubt it too. I'm just making jabs at mldardy for talking smack. Though, I will say this. Gee is an absolute dumb*** for the comments he made. How in hell does someone that stupid become a president of a University? Oh thats right. We are talking about Ohio State! ;) :p:

Yeah, he is talking out of his ***. TCU has had several nationally televised games this year. They don't do that if they don't generate interest. A hell of a lot more than Baylor and Iowa State.

This is a drag. I really felt like the Mountain West Conference was on the verge of becoming a major conference. This will only hurt that effort. TCU and Boise St. every year would have been very good for college football. Now, I think TCU kinda falls off the map, so to speak. They are joining a conference with no geo rivals and I honestly don't see them developing any. The Big East Consists of:

Cincy (Ohio)
UConn (Connecticut)
DePaul (Illinois)
Georgetown (D.C.)
Louisville (Kentucky)
Marquette (Wisconsin)
Notre Dame (Indiana - Basketball Only)
Pitt (Pennsylvania)
Providence (Rhode Island)
Rutgers (New Jersey)
St. Johns (New York)
Seton Hall (New Jersey)
USF (Florida)
Syracuse (New York)
Villanova (Pennsylvania)
West Virginia (West Virginia)

I mean, how the heck are you even going to travel that? It's horrible.

They have no geographic rivals now by technicality. The closest school in the MWC to Fort Worth is New Mexico.. Alberquerque is 10 hours away from DFW. Louisville, in contrast, is 11. There's no real difference in location proximity from the Big East and the Mountain West.

Here's the difference: in the Big East, you go 11-1, chances are you're going to the BCS. In the Mountain West, you go 11-1, you're going to the Meinke Car Care Bowl and aren't SNIFFING the BCS.

This was the best move for TCU football. No offense, but if you think they're going to fall off there, you got another thing coming.

I don't agree with this. I agree that they are not ideally suited in the Mountain West but geographically, they are much better suited in the Mountain West then they are in the Big East. If you only look at the closest school, then that argument seems fine but if you look at the whole picture, it's not. As part of the Big East, you don't only support your travel but you contribute to the support of all of the schools in the conference. In the case of ND, you don't even share there football revenue but you will be responsible for contributing to pay for all of their other sports expenses. You've got 6 schools that are literally on the Atlantic Seaboard with several almost as far. In the Mountain West, you have only SDSt. and Fresno joining in 2013 that are located on the West Coast.

I would go one step further and say that there is very serious talk of including the Mountain West as a BCS Conference as early as 2013. I imagine that this will probably not happen with the departure of TCU (unless the MWC brings in another respectable football school). There is also talk that the Big East could lose there BCS rights. The BCS is by no means stable and I would not be surprised to see some of those schools jump if given the opportunity. The positive is that TCU gains a share of the East Coast Market but I don't really know if that will help a great deal or not considering the over all costs associated.

I don't believe that your reasoning here is solid. I guess it really doesn't matter. It's a done deal so we'll see if it works out or not.

Excellent post ABQ. I didn't know half this stuff. WoW! I hope TCU really looked into EVERYTHING and not just the name of the conference to be part of.

They aren't a very "rich" program booster wise, I know that.
