Dak is basically 5-1 so far in his career (39-8).

I know some here hate him and constantly compare him to the 1st and 2nd overall draft picks, but even they aren't that good.

He has the best in that ratio of any QB to play in the NFL to date.

Winning the turnover battle is huge if you want to actually win games. Keep in mind the average interception rate has gone down steadily over the years as the rules have become friendlier to passing the ball.

In 1993 and 1995 Aikman threw picks at an incredibly low rate for that era. Nobody in the NFL threw fewer picks as a % of pass attempts than Staubach in 1971, 1977 and 1979.

He's literally the rich man's Alex Smith - all of the ball security and then some combined with more playmaking ability (both through the air and on the ground, particularly in the redzone). Dak's ball security is an invaluable trait and one that will allow us to win a lot of games over the coming years.

It is truly impressive but it should be pointed out that Prescott has had a bit of luck with a few passes that should have been intercepted but were not caught by a defender. However, it is also true that some degree of good or bad luck happens to every quarterback everywhere. Here's hoping the small amount of luck that has benefited Prescott lasts his entire career.

I agree about his ball security. it truly is astounding how he is so consistent with playing keep away from the defense. That pass to Witten yesterday scared the crap out of me. I thought that was a pick six. But Dak just smoked that ball by the defender.

If you consider all things about his game, this ability to not turn the ball over speaks about his understanding of the game and situations, his vision, and accuracy.

If Dallas uses this off season to add some upgrades on defense, and Dallas gets this stupid lynch party NFL off the back of Zeke. And perhaps Rico either shows up with this unique size and athleticism, or they find the next great TE, Dak will end up winning championships.

Championships!

That could be said about any QB though. Hell, we had a chance to intercept the greatest of all time, just ask him, Rodgers and we dropped it.

Absolutely true. That is why I stated, "However, it is also true that some degree of good or bad luck happens to every quarterback everywhere." :p

Great explanation. I’ve always thought of Dak as being very similar to AS but never could find the right way to make the comp as I believed he’s a better version, so again, thanks!

TD:INT is what makes a QB elite for me. If he finishes the season over 30:10 (and at 10 INTs or fewer), he will have entered elite territory. I think Romo did it twice.

I bump up the INT limit in increments of 1:5 INT/TD, example -- 35:11, 40:12 etc.

Dak is having an elite season. Even 3,500 YDs, 30:9 is elite. I count two rushing TDs, for a QB, for every one receiving TD.

We have a burgeoning elite QB in this new crop of young QBs. We have a burgeoning Tom Brady with legs that needs this D to continue to develop. If it (the D) does, we will have a champion QB

Luck plays in you're favor more often than not, when you're good.

A "rich man's Alex Smith" is Tom Brady. The GOAT. Dak is getting there, tho.

Half of the interceptions he's thrown this season hit his receiver in the hands.
I will not argue this point as well but would ask how many of those perfect passes that his receivers should have caught (because that is their job) were almost pulled in by a defender?

Luck is an elite chucker. Like Favre. He has had horrible management (makes ours look like NE). He's been killed most of his years in the league, due to inexcusable drafting at OL

I know it's not popular on this board to like Luck, same for Winston. But it is what it is.

Luck is a phenom who has been destroyed, thus far, by a disgusting owner and top mgmt
