TE Jake Ferguson

We could have picked Tyler Warren and passed. Akin to passing on Randy Moss. Warren is going to be perennial Pro Bowl player. Booker is not.
We don’t need pro bowlers though. We need football players. We’ve had 13 Pro Bowlers. I want toughness and physical players that show up when it’s needed. Perennial Pro Bowl is nothing.

As far as Randy Moss goes I’ll always be a fan but we sure do a lot of crying about a guy who accomplished personal feats but couldn’t be the difference maker for a SB champion.

Actually, eports were that they did like him , nd he was one of the two decision options between he and Mazi...
Completely wrong. The Cowboys definitely did not like him and never seriously considered drafting him. They said he didn't fit what they were trying to do. Additionally Solari on draft day told the guys on the draft coverage that they are looking for "athletic" offensive linemen.

Sure but I don’t believe he is chipping guys at a higher rate than most TEs. 60% of his passing snaps last year came from the slot. I just don’t think he is nearly as good running up the seem for deep/intermediate routes as he is finding holes in coverage underneath.
In his breakout season in 2023, when he and Dak were both healthy, he averaged 10.7 yards a catch, which placed him in the top 10.

The Cowboys #1 priority was to improve the running game by beefing up the OL.

unless we draft another JW or Kelce tyoe TE, we will never give a 2nd contract to a TE. Schultz, Ferguson.... solid, but replaceable.
You cant pay a QB, WR, DE, OL all top money and then think you are giving 12 million per season to a solid TE.
Yes you can, that is why our DT position, and LB position and Safeties are an issue.

Jerry believes all you need on Defense is DE's and CB's.

Id say they have been trying to draft that position for the past half decade. Get your analysis together with facts. And you guys are all clowns if you think JERRY is the one pushing the buttons on who we draft . How come mr. McClain is a genius when we draft Parsons, but he is nowhere to be found when we draft Mazi in the 1st and he so far hasnt panned out? Do you actually believe Jerry was sitting around watching DT tape prior to drafting Mazi? You can say the players have sucked, but dont say they ignore the position.

2021 DT 3rd rd and 6th RD. 2022 5th rd DT, 2023 1st rd DT, 2024 7th rd DT, 20252 DT in the 6th rd,

Free Agency NADA!!!

When you have a glaring hole, you don't hope you can fix in the draft.

I believe that OG consideration at war room draft time was Matthew Bergeron of Syracuse

There's video footage of that decision discussion

Supposedly DMN David Moore and departed Michael Gehiken confirmed the teams consideration.

You dont??? then wth is the draft for? Do you think Jayden Daniels was not drafted to fix a glaring hole at the most important position in the game? When you draft someone in the frst rd, you are addressing the position. It just doesnt always work out as planned.

If you have not paid attention it has not worked out for over a decade.

Have a strong feeling we might be sleeping on schoonmaker. I think he has the tools to be slightly better than Dalton Schultz. Better blocker. Ferguson might be more of a question mark.I also feel Ford is still trying to find his niche. What is he and what can he be? Same with All our tightends. We don't seem to have a known commodity yet. This leaves the door wide open for the 2 udfas to sneak into the roster.

He isn't a backup and contributes all game.
He's still technically number two on the depth chart which makes him a backup I get what you're saying I understand the blocking and coming in and blah blah blah he's still a backup there is no way to say he's not a backup he's number two that makes him a backup I mean I don't know why you're sticking up for the guy like with this kind of veracity I realize he's a contributor he was picked way too high in the draft when you get a guy like Dalton Schultz and Ferguson in the 4th round this dude was severely overdrafted no one's calling him a bust but for a guy that is basically a backup he was overdrafted but I would like to see him get more snaps I know he can catch the football he doesn't run great routes or get open all the time but he definitely can catch contested catches and we can blame Mike for a lot of things and maybe this is one of them last year they just used too many three tight end sets to help the lethargic run game..
