When you look at the TE prospects that were expected to visit this week, the likes of Woods, Ruckert and Otton are all considered solid 3rd rd prospects. They also did bring in Wydermyer but who knows where his landing spot is after his poor offseason testing.

100 percent this team will draft a TE early. I would bet they're looking to move on from paying their TE 10 m a year (cap boy) but don't want to completely dismantle this year's offense.

I'd expect us to get a guy like Ruckert or Otten in 4, or McBride or Woods if they somehow fall to our 3 (more likely they go in two)

If we don't, I'd expect them to then sign a long term deal with Schultz after the draft. If they do get one, Schultz walks after this year

Jason Witten, ..Travis Kelcie,.. Mark Andrews ...these are examples of most noted TEs taken in the 3rd round.
If we are gonna get a long term TE, then it's gonna very likely have to be early in the draft, and definite by 3rd rd.

It's not out of the question to find a Mark Bavaro ..or for what value, production and durability that we got from even Schultz, that's not a bad
pick.

We simply just cannot have the Gavin Escobar re-do again ..

Woods is picking up steam and I've seen reports he could possibly end up late first.

I like Ruckert. But I feel like if we draft him his plantar fasciitis is going to cost him multiple games / entire rookie season. That's just our luck.

He have to find a TE who can actually block inline and in space as well as threaten teams up the seem in the passing game.

That seems like the exact sweet spot in this class.

I fully hope and expect that they will go TE there.

Receiver first and foremost, but also not a pure mess in the run game. Sounds like several ought to fit the bill....and if there's one they like especially....one of those 5ths ought to be able to get you a deal up in the 3rd round.

If we go OL, WR, TE, RB in that order, I think there's a shot to have four immediate contributors out of this draft.

Needless to say, that already comes with the total evaluation of the TEs on the draft board.
That's what it is gonna determined if he is a 2nd, 3rd ..or 4th rd .. or even late round project.

So, let's say they're targeting TE with 88 as stated. I'm guessing this removes WR at 24 or 56. I don't see them using 2 of 3 top picks on receivers. In other words, IF they pull the trigger on WR with 24, I don't them drafting TE until 4th round or later.

Admittedly i am still catching up and trying to gather player profile and projection. Looks like there's not a superlative blue chip 1st round TEs such as Kyle Pitts,.. TJ Hockenson or David Njoku..
but supposedly the overall TE depth is supposed to be handy and healthy.

I'm taking a more conservative approach and expectations as i've heard how interested we were supposed to be in TE in a good TE class year ,.. but yet always bypassed it.
we only took Dalton Schultz in the 4th round out of sheer panic of Witten's shockingly surprised retirement.

It's the deepest TE class in years and Dallas just put a big franchise tag on one of their TEs. While I do expect them to draft a TE, I don't know that they'd want to invest both a franchise tag and a high draft pick at a position being touted as one of the deepest in the draft. I'm guessing it'll be a 4th or 5th round pick and maybe their 4th packaged with a 5th to move up if there's a guy they like. Right now I've got them taking Khalil Shakir in the 3rd round, then trading their 4th #129 and 5th #155 to move up to the Jets pick at #111 in the top of the 4th. That's about the area I see the Kolars, Dulchics, Ruckerts, and Likelys coming off the board.

You have to figure at least 1 defensive player being picked, but it's going to be offensive heavy no doubt.

It looking likely they will be targeting a TE in that 3-5 rd range. They could use those 5th rounders to move up from 129 on day 3, but think the top players at the position will start to come off the board in the third rd. Like Edge, it's going to be what flavor of ice cream do you like, I am hopeful that find a TE who can actually help the run game and give us a little more then Shultz in the pass.

They brought in 3 top level TE's for visits another one who was expected to go in that range until he had a poor offseason with his testing. Both Jerry/Stephen said TE was a priority need, they are going to take 1 this year.

I haven't really studied much, but I like the Otton and Wydermyer. Maybe third round targets. Maybe Wydermyer goes later if other tight ends are preferred. Ruckert maybe after that. He could have some upside as he wasn't used much with all the weapons Ohio state had.

Solid TEs, nothing special. Wait and get Jalani Woods in the 4th. He could develop into something special. 6’ 7”, 253 LBs, RAS 10. Used mostly as a blocker at Oklahoma. Used mostly as a receiver at UVA this past year. Former QB.

- I'm taking what Stephen and Jerry says with a grain of salt. But these are the times where i'd wish they'd stay close to cloaking and shielding their intent to certain positions

- Why would your executives be yelping out to the world what we are needing, so that other NFL team can have a hint advantage at jumping ahead of us (ala Philly) to
- get the player and position we want ..?

Wouldn't you rather be sending out misleading smokescreens and false alarms to hide our intentions on this and that player ?
That's probably a lead reason why teams went ahead with picks like Horn and Surtain Jr. because they knew we were gonna have a beat on the
same players they were interested and had their draft board as well.
