Scout Inc. has the Cowboys needing these position needs in the following order. Would you argue?
1. CB
2. WR
3. S
4. G

I would flip it to:

G, S, WR, CB

ILB and OLB also need to be added.

We don't have an ILB that can cover. Unless Carpenter "breaks out" this year....

I think Carpenter is more likely to have an "outbreak."

1. ILB - If B James or Brooking get injured, we don't really have anyone. And we may not have a coverage LB as it is (depending on Carpenter).

2. CB/S tweener - If seems the Cowboys are trying to get one player who can potentially play 2 roles - see Scandrick and Ball.

3a. NT - This is heavily dependent on what Wade really thinks of Siavii. This may not be as big a need as many think.

3b. OT depth - I'm not sure if we have anyone behind Flo and Colombo. Again, a lot depends on Free here.

4. OLB depth - Ellis is nearly done.

5. WR depth.

just a quick point about NT. I think drafting a mammoth run-stopper NT is vital to this team and would allow us to be more versatile against running teams like the Skins and Giants. If we draft a big mammoth NT it could allow us to use Ratliff as DE some and would create more mismatches for us. all the top 3-4 defenses have mammoth run stopping NT's

New England- Wilfork - 6'2 325
Baltimore-Gregg/Ngata - Gregg 6'0 315 pounds, Ngata 6'4 345 pounds
Pittsburgh-Hampton - 6'1 325 pounds
San Diego-Williams - 6'3 350 pounds

all wide bodies

Dallas - Jay Ratliff - 6'4 302

not a wide body

We have three talented corners, albeit two have only one year of experience.

Receiver is riddled with question marks, can our young players take advantage of Terrell Owens' departure and provide answers?

Safety has depth issues behind the starters, one of whom is working on a one year deal.

Guard became a real sore spot last season.

We don't need to address these areas in any particular order and it looks like we will try to let our draft board dictate the players we select in three weeks.

We just need to try and add good prospects, everything else will sort itself out in the end.

We can always add players at any thin spots using undrafted free agents, unsigned veterans, potential trades and even roster cuts once pre-season starts winding down.

Just use the draft to add as much talent as possible and we will benefit.

Draft needs in my opinion:

CB - more depth needed maybe another seasoned veteran if not definitely draft one

WR - We have good young recievers but still more depth needed and it wouldn't hurt

OL (G,T) - One of each wouldn't hurt

DL (DT) more depth needed behind Jay Ratliff

ILB - wouldn't hurt

QB - Yes Romo is the man; Kitna is getting old, draft a QB and let Romo start grooming him now. Tired of always getting these old, washed up free agent backups.

Who do you suggest we draft then?

D Scott could put on another 10-15 lbs (so they say), but I think the Cowboys see him more as a DE.

Ron Brace? Very split opinions on him.

Guys like R Miller are not 325 lbs+.

There are guys like the player from Stillman (his name escapes me right now), but they are a big question mark.

The most viable option may already be on the team in Siavii. Honestly, I haven't seen him in pre-season or TC to really have an informed opinion. But it seems that Wade genuinely likes this player.

I know a lot of posters think because he didn't make the team last season he's garbage, and maybe he is, but sometimes it takes some players a bit longer to catch on.

Safety is the priority. we have Hamlin and that is really about it. None of the others have shown much of anything. Now IF the boys have someone on the roster they THINK can get it done this drops- but it is doubtful.

OT/OG= and center depth. All indications are that NONE of the backups except Holland have the ability to step in and get it done for more then a game or two. I think we are in better shape at Guard with Holland= he is big enough and strong enough to backup Bigg as well as Kosier. young tackle talent is definitly needed- both Free and McQ have shown nothing and by now they should. And we really need a better backup to Gurode then the proctologist.

CB: you can never have enough good young CBs so getting another in rds 4 and down should be done.

I do not thing we need to go for any WRs until we see how things go this year.

I too would like to find a wide body at NT.

On defense: Safety and ILB

On offense: Rebuild the offensive line. Replace every damn one of them as it becomes possible to do so.
