Team Observations

over the past week? How would I know what his performance over the past week has been? Practice is practice. It was not a week of practice with a gameplan for a game. It was the team running plays.

he missed a couple of throws last night. so what. he played two series.

trying to start a conspiracy theory that something is wrong I think is misguided. I would look for him to be sharp this week at home. If he is not then maybe he is struggling through arm fatigue or is forcing balls. Either way when all of the moving parts of this preseason become one in cleveland I would expect romo to be as sharp as ever. With the added weapons in felix jones, miles austin and possibly bennett I think Romo will be fine.

the guy is 19-7 as the starter. he has thrown 55 tds, 7100 yards and has a 96.5 qb rating if you are into that type of thing.

I think he deserves the benefit of the doubt over two series in a preseason game. Especially when one drive was blown by a bad call.

I don't think I jumped on Romo I just stated that he was outplayed this past week by Cutler and is missing something right now.

That isn't an opinion, it is a fact.

Please tell me you are not trying to argu that freaking Cutler is better than Romo, please tell me you are joking here.

It is no coincidence that the Broncos have not even sniffed the playoffs with Cutler at QB. You put some pressure in his face and he starts chucking the ball up for grabs, been like that since he entered the league.

Now somebody will try to argu that his numbers from last night prove that he is a franchise QB. Most NFL level QBs would have put up similar numbers with the non-existent pressure we had last night. It really was like 7 on 7 drills, seriously.

6. It bothers me a great deal that Romo was basically outplayed all week by Jay Cutler. From the practice reports that I have read, and after watching the game, Cutler appears to be much more focused and is much more comfortable running his offensive unit right now. I think TR is an outstanding talent that brings alot to the table but something is missing right now....I don't know if it is his concentration or maybe he is feeling the pressure of his position but something just isn't right. Make no mistake, this team will only go as far as he takes it.

You make several good points - but everyone must remember that practicing in high-altitude, especially when it comes to throwing can take time to adjust to because theoretically, the ball travels farther due the air is thinner, there is less drag on the ball as it travels. It sounds like Romo just had a problem adjusting to this and I'm sure he'll throw the ball better next week. So I wouldn't worry.

1. As Cowboy Joe stated earlier - we need to pick up the practice intensity. I understand that no one wants to have injuries but JJ used to beat the hell out of his teams and I don't recall us being riddled with injuries. I played football from little leaque through four years of college and I am a firm believer that you have to practice hard - especially in the preseason when the players need to get reaclimated with the contact and the speed of the game.

Agreed.

I guess people want to go back to the days of Hutch, Henson, Vinny, and Bledsoe leading us to 5 win seasons.

You sure are a perceptive one. I was thinking just the other day that I bet most fans want us to go back to the days of Hutch, Henson, Vinny and Bledsoe. Good call.

I simply cant believe the people jumping on Romo.

Simply amazing.

Those who turn on Romo will probably eat their young too.

Romo is clearly the best thing since Aikman and if that is not obvious then I don't know what is.

Last night on his show laufenberg was giving a little inside info on what shanahan was saying off the record about romo. He loves him and cant believe how quickly he sees things and gets rid of the ball.

He said look for romo to have his best season yet.
