Team sticking together

I wasn't so much on Weeden even today until the last two drives. He kinda fell apart there. If we're going to strip down the game plan and just take the high percentage stuff, that's ok with me, but the bad decision on the pick, and the bad throws--especially at the end--at the goal line were rough. At this point, Cassel would have a month on the team and two weeks of that to prepare for the next game, so looking at him makes legitimate sense where it didn't the last two weeks.

I was. As a quarterback, he does bear the onus on five straight three and outs.

The last pass to Williams was inexcusable. Also he seems to never put it in a spot for Esobar where it's catchable. Esco always looks like he's having to twist to try to catch the ball. Compare that to Romo throws to him which have been right in a catchable zone.

I'd say Weeden stunk from beginning to end today. Before the last two drives, he was 15 of 22 for 103 yards (78.4 rating), and we had 6 three-and-outs and 6 points.

Oh, I didn't say he was productive. He obviously wasn't. But I also saw a lot of blown protections and tight coverage. I saw a lot of low percentage situations where I don't expect a player with his capabilities to make a play.

I'd said going in I didn't see how we'd keep pace if we didn't take the ball away at least twice. Instead, we were -2 in the turnover department. Playing a better team that doesn't make mistakes with key offensive personnel winning---you're not going to win those games in this league. Our defense gave their offense a legitimate challenge, but the matchup between our offense and their defense was lacking, as we expected it would be. Not just the passing game, but also our ground game. Throw in STs, for that matter, since we lost there, too.

At least Weedan wont lose next week. His losing streak will still be alive.

I agree with you but even the have to be questioning the starting QB. He just all out sucks.
Exactly Dave with Weeden even if he had Adrian Peterson at RB, Dez Bryant, and Calvin Johnson at WR he would still suck at QB it doesn't matter who is calling plays.

The young woman pictured below is attempting to limbo under the expectations of Weeden.

I see what you're saying Idgit and you're correct in your thinking that when Romo went down at Philly, the whole entire offense suffered as a result and when you got a QB like Weeden no defense is going to respect the offense and keep throwing 8-9 men boxes at him until he can show he can beat them passing the ball down field and he has failed it just go to show how valuable a QB like Romo is.

Yep. Hey, I wish we had an upgrade on the roster, too. I even think Cassel could end up being that, but if he's going to be, it was always by putting him in in the game following the bye.

I agree that its quite possible that Cassel will be the starter at the Giants on October 25th

I think that Weeden did what the coaches asked him to do, after all, he didn't personally give up 30 points, that was on the defense.

Not when you have 6 straight 3 and outs. You never flip the field and your D stays exhausted.

3 and outs are just turnovers that don't get coaches fired.

Sorry, forgot the ""'s. Weeden's fans have been saying this for the past 3 games.

What was Cassel's competition percentage, and what did his drive chart look like in his last start, when he was run out of out Minnesota?

Cassel literally hasn't had a decent stretch of games since 2011.
